I'm baffled with Ange Postecoglu tactics yesterday ?
Why against 3 fast forwards in Gordon, Barnes and Isak, would you play with such a high line and while attacking your opponents box have no defenders in your own half? Isak couldn't be off side yesterday for the 3rd as he was just in his own half when the pass was played and the highly rated Van de Ven (played like Bambi on ice !) couldn't catch the flying Isak who finished with aplomb.
Ange Postecoglu has had a good season and the players quite rightly rate him but defending with a high line is risky when losing the ball in transition against the fast forwards of Newcastle.
They continued to attack and play a high line even when down to 9 men v Chelsea, instead of sitting in and trying to hold onto a draw, and ended up losing 4-1.0 -
