Anyhow, I don't know where I've been last 72hrs, but it came as a surprise to listen to Talksport this morning discussing Chelsea's attempts to get around the PSR rules by selling two hotels to Todd Boely's own company for the small little matter of £76m.

How the actual f is that right in anybody's book?

According to the financial expert, its within the rules apparently.

Yeah i've no idea how it can be in the rules but it's a pretty crazy thing to be able to get away with.

Then again 3-4 years ago Aston Villa's owners sold Villa Park for 56m to a company owned by themselves, so clearly these things can be done.

Derby County was the worst example of a club trying to fiddle FFP via an inflated sale to owners...
  • "Chelsea have triggered contract extensions for Argentina midfielder Enzo Fernandez and Ukraine winger Mykhailo Mudryk.

Mudryk agreed a seven-and-a-half year deal upon his arrival in west London. Meanwhile, Fernandez penned an eight-and-a-half year deal signing from Benfica. Both players have now had another year added onto their respective contracts.

Mudryk's is set to expire in 2031 when he is 30, while Fernandez is tied to the club until 2032 when he will be 31."

Good job they both got them tied down before their contracts ran out.

I guess the key question is what their true market value is. Assuming £76M is the correct value so the number hasn't been artificially inflated then it is simply a football club selling an asset.
No different to a club selling a player to another club under the same ownership which happens a lot doesn't it (Watford/Udinese) etc.

Good goal for Gudmundsson. Seems an eternity since he played for us.

JBG is still one of those " how on earth did we sign him" players for me. Remember seeing him in a friendly at Pompey just after he'd signed and just thought he looked different class. That Boxing Day screamer in front of the Covered End against Cardiff in injury time is still one of my favourite goals in recent memory.

If any of you have got Udogie in your dream teams, might want to take him out.  Had an op yesterday and is out for up to 3 months.

Always good to take Udogie out.
Was he available in January, by the way? In which case, how much was Udogie in the window?

    etc

Don't worry. VAR is there to ensure that these things get picked up and corrected. Apparently.

I predicted a Forest win (1-0). VAR are not giving them any decisions just to ensure I get no points.

Moyes will be lucky to make half time at this rate.
  • Strange side West Ham. The other night they played Leverkusen off the park for 45 minutes and you think why don't they play like this all the time. 3 days later they play like they've never met each other.

    Another handball, Tarkovski this time.
  • Wasn't expecting much from Chelsea without Palmer but this performance is embarrassing.

Don't even need to go into the horrendous Jackson tackle that wasn't even given a card. Quality refs strike again.

Though Jackson being sent off might've done Chelsea a favour to give them an excuse.

You wont hear me be this complimentary ever again but this performance by Arsenal tonight has been as close to perfect as you can get.  They've been bloody brilliant.  If they'd have got double figures tonight, no one could complain.

The way Spurs have been playing, I'm not looking forward to Sunday.

EDIT >> meant to say, you watch Chelsea turn into 1970s Brazil when they play Spurs next Thursday FFS.

I don't think I can recall a player with the number of misses in one season that Jackson has managed to achieve. It's not just that though, it's the fact that so many of his attempts are so horrendous - he's got pace to burn and gets in good positions but then ends up looking like a poor man's Churchino!
