  • Now live, but watching through my fingers....
At least we have another 19 wickets before we end up losing!

    Middx two down
  • Brooks gets Muyeye
  • It does seem rather strange to see Banton batting at 7 and not keeping though it is equally as strange to see him playing red ball cricket at all.
Me thinks Banton might decide that red ball cricket isn't for him. Spends three days watching the rain and the top six bat, denied the gloves and having to field for the duration of the final day.

I reckon be was picked because of the weather and them maybe needing a quick declaration

Surely even Kent cannot lose 20 wickets in a day

I think we re going to have to play for the draw now, after those early wickets

Remarkably for a team that has only two batting points this season, the likes of Robson, Simpson and Higgins have faced 1459, 1307 and 1236 balls respectively. To put that in perspective, only Compton of our squad has faced more balls. That has to be down to the numerous second innings rear guard actions - Robson is still in and the other two have yet to bat.
  • DBD chips a leg stump full toss straight to mid wicket

    30-3

  • Leaning out LBW

    31-4

Good job we won the toss and fielded first
  • No spirit, no fight

Kent don't deserve anything. Decided to root for Northants today
  • Strongly believe we should be concentrating on our resources for next season now.

Draw a line under 2023 now.
  • This is crazy
  • Very similar scores bar the zero in the middle

    404-4 against 44-4

We are going to lose this by an innings the way it is going and batting bonus points are a pipedream now.

Middx are 127-3 - unfortunaely, Cracknell is the one out and not Robson. Higgins joins him and Middx are 68 runs behind.

  • It looks like we've made up our minds to go for bonus points come what may and shut up shop in the second innings. Denly and Finch have put on 53 off 55 balls to date

    84-4
  • And then Finch goes

Middlesex cruising. 151-3. 43 to make Warwickshire bat again.
  • Surrey following on
  • 110-5 at lunch

    Denly 40* (54)
    O'Riordan 9* (24)
  • Middx 181-3 and just 13 runs behind with 65 overs in the day left
  • Middx are now ahead of Warwickshire and still just 3 down. They probably need to bat for another 45 overs to guarantee a draw

Manchester doing it's usual, with Lancs 272-7 in the ONLY innings played, and no play today yet!

At least a couple of our batsmen have shown a bit of backbone, after the surrender by the opening four.
  • In other news, Mitch Claydon, our former stalwart, has been elevated to State Umpire for New South Wales. The irony is that he had his own disciplinary issues including being suspended just three years ago when playing for Sussex for nine games for tampering with the ball.
