Pissed off at that. Wanted England to lose so they'd never try to play entertaining cricket ever again

Excellent series, 2-2 is the fair result I think. Well done lads!

Well done England, Well done Broad, feeling emotional myself after all that, just a shame that drawn match when we had them on the ropes...what could have been

Genuinely think 3-2 would have reflected the series, we've been a bit better.

What a day. Never expected that when Australia were 3 down during the rain break.

Broad writes his own scripts. Ridiculous to hit his last ball for 6 and then finish his bowling with the last ball.

So what do we take from this series? Sensible Bazball  a success? Where Sensible means don't play like the hour at Lords? Or a total failure as we didn't win the series? Or something else?

I wanted to wait until the match finished before responding…

This is a young and confident team.

And although they didn’t win the series, it’s taken a hell of a lot of guts to come back from 2-0. They are gritty and determined but also very quick to learn lessons from defeats.

The bowling attack is going to have to be reshaped, and quickly, with Broad gone, Ali gone and Anderson on the decline. But the batting is going from strength to strength.

What can Australia take from this series? Nathan Lyon is their most effective bowler and a key cog in their bowling attack.

Broad got 6 on his last ball faced, and a wicket with his last ball bowled.  Amazing.

My 2-2 prediction comes true. The Aussies still haven't won over here since 2001

Fabulous way to finish his Career.
    Stewart Broad take a bow.
Hits a six with his last shot.
Takes a wicket with his final ball.
Switched the bail twice; took wicket the next ball, twice !
    Hollywood cricketer.
He's retired now. So it might be time to start spelling his name right.

     ;)

    👍Thanks Chazz,
I'm a shocker for spelling names correctly.

    Same.

Wish I'd have put some money on!  Not sure what the odds were.

I know all the talk will be about Broad and rightly so ... but Chris Woakes what a performance

Exactly the same as my career. Except the other way round.

Didn't watch any of the play today, but from following the scorecard it looks like we made it far more tense than we should have. Great result though.

Indeed. Backed it in 2019 and backed it in 2023. Can't wait for 2027.

We did well today IMO. Took all 10 wickets for less than 200 runs.

The problem was yesterday’s opening partnership putting on 140.

Went out to the garage to put a coat of stain on a piece of timber I'm making something out of. Took the cricket with me on my phone but was expecting it to fizzle out. Every time I move from the phone to get the time of stain or wash my brushes we take a wicket.

Desperately looking for more bits of timber i can stain.

Mrs is gonna be wondering where I am.
I think your Mrs knows exactly what, "I'm just off to stain my timber" means.

Winning margins of the four results.

    - 2 wickets
    - 43 runs
    - 3 wickets
    - 49 runs

What a series. Best since 2005 no doubt.

Such a shame about Old Trafford… they were still 60 odd behind and we had another innings to knock off as many as 150-200…

Indeed. The only one-sided game was a wash-out. Unlucky not to have won the series.
