Great, they go off for lunch, with rain in the forecast, come back on and immediately off again for the predicted rain, bloody protocol and rules, no common sense or flexibility in delaying lunch for an hour, now predicted to be raining for 2 hours...draw here we come again!!
A bit harsh, it was nearly 1:30 when they went off for lunch, which had to be taken at some point.

The rain could have come at 1:30 or 2:30

How many hours would you play for while waiting for the rain?

Anyone listen to TMS while they were debating who could be playing for England in 4 years time?

Really brought home how much the batting looks OK (top 5 could still be there, Muyeye, Rew etc looking promising) but the bowling not so much.

Anderson, Broad, Wood, Woakes, Moeen etc all either definitely won't be there or would be unlikely to be, the likes of Archer, Mahmood having injury issues meaning Test cricket might be unlikely for them.

Need three wickets relatively early. Get Smith & Head and it’s game on IMO

I was listening to that too. We have a ridiculous number of wickets in this Oval team to replace

Robinson, Potts, Tongue, Stone… potential wild card options that we haven’t heard of yet…

This is like trying to predict the England football team for a future World Cup. Who saw Jude Bellingham being as important to that team after 2018?

Probably could have played till 2.30...
They knew rain was forecast between 2.00-4.00, all I was saying delaying it for an hour might have been an idea, but anyway, let's see how things pan out...

Just have to hope there's a couple of bowlers out there that come from nowhere to prove to be great but it's not looking promising.

Win predictor still has England 48%! That’s uh… surprising.

I’ll peg it at 65% Aussies, 20% England, 15% Draw

    8.20pm finish for 52 overs 🕯️💡🔦
As this wont happen what do you think will be the likely outcome....?

    Off for bad light ?

If so, what is the point of rules or laws of cricket ?  Have to bowl a minimum of 15 overs in the last hour. But when is the "last hour" ? It should be from 7.20pm but we will probably be off the ground by then.

Cricket has some strange laws at times. Final day of the final Test & no-one knows when it will end even if there is no more rain.

If there are 52 overs left to be bowled then 52 overs should be bowled. We have floodlights so lets use them properly.

47 overs, not 52. Umpires have had a nightmare this week..

Imagine if we'd won at OT and this was for 3-2, 2-3 or 2-2.

This should be 5 wickets down.
This game will be resolved in 42 overs.
    This series has been bonkers:
Australia will win unless we bowl them out.
The premature Joculation* by Ben was a shocker, just be still with the ball in your hand for two seconds.
Done my nut in. Stokes shock his head and still went for the appeal.
I get it that when you're a hero or have loads of credit you don't get slagged off like the common man but Jesus Wept.

    * Trust me this is a word in the urban dictionary from today.
