Sounds like you enjoy it immensely which is great.oohaahmortimer said:

For the record when I’ve sponsored a match the vegetarian option is always available in the centre circle loungeseth plum said:
Might be. When I have ever eaten at an event at the Valley (three times) the vegetarian food has been vile…that’s if there has been any provided at all!oohaahmortimer said:
is he a vegetarian?DaisyEdwards said:This evening just about sums our club up. I really do not understand why some of our fans support this non event. A mate has just texted to say the food was crap..
It is also an insult if being a vegetarian is viewed as a ‘special dietary requirement’, that category is for nut allergies or whatever surely?
The payment of north of £40 for such an event is for others to enjoy, not me.
When the club email me to book a table for a match (this is not the POTY people) they bang on about a seat, a programme, a legend, they also say a delicious meal. Quite a claim when they don’t cater for vegetarians.
Did you eat it?
What was the cost?
eating is cheating and with my guts I can’t afford to be touching veg when on the piss
match day sponsorship was £240 per head with seat in directors box, programme, advertising, pictures in dugouts/ ground/ 3 course meal , cheese and biscuits , sausage roll / pie / veggie stuff after match , beer and wine thrown in all day , loads of banter with Bob Bolder , go on pitch pre match , choose man of match … in all honesty it’s a bit expensive for a shithouse league one club but a way of supporting the club and getting mates together once a year .
I choose it to get pissed tell everyone how shit we are and cuddle Bob .
Such a thing would not be for me simply because of the food situation.0 -

Had a very enjoyable evening and know a fair bit more than I went in knowing. No complaints and really pleased I went. I really enjoyed speaking with the Charlton Live team too and thanks for all of your hard work to this season. Looking forward to the Pod tomorrow 👏0 -

the food is good according to the friends who eat it and I'm sure the vegetarian option would be decent , the food definitely has improved over the years in there
I've sat in centre circle lounge on just a smaller table of friends and think it was less than £130 per head for food and drink and seat but that was pre covid so don't know prices/packages now0 -

I thought the vegetarian option would be decent, that is until I experienced events at the club on three occasions.
One was a ‘nobody told us’, experience where there was nothing at all available, one was inedible random grey slop in pastry, and one which led to the actual chef accepting my politely put feedback and saying ‘I blame myself’. Ravi was embarrassed and apologetic each time, but ultimately he was defeated. The club still took a reckonable wedge though. I can almost see the sneers and hear the guffaws of the meat eaters when they read about this kind of stuff.
I am pleased for the people who enjoy these experiences, but they are not for me given what has happened.
I would advise other vegetarians and any vegans not to participate in any Charlton Athletic catered event.
For clarity the subject of the food on this thread was not initiated by me or anybody I know.4 -
Thoroughly deserved awards for Jes last night. I voted early and picked Dobbo but, in all honesty, if I’d waited I would probably have gone for JRS by the time the votes closed. It’s hard to take that we are a club that has fallen so far that we have to rely on a loan from them. But that’s nothing to do with Jes. He’s exactly what a prem loan should be, if we pick right. Yes, there were games where he was off the boil, but his contribution over the season was fantastic. 15 goals from a first year winger, 9 assists to add to that. And he gave us some great entertainment with his play as well. Put in effort & played for the shirt in a way that many of our own players would do well to learn from and try to copy (the effort at least, if not the ability). Also seems to have been great for Tyreece to have around as well. An absolute model pro and loan.
Next stop should be a Championship club. My only regret that that won’t be with his parent club!!19 -
I see the thread about the POTY event has been hijacked by the vegan warrior.
Who'd have thought that?5 -

I think the cuddle with Bob is £200 of the cost. If you organise the cuddle direct with Bob and cut out the middleman, you’ll be far better off.oohaahmortimer said:

100% mate like you I voted early and went Dobson but without doubt the right person won. Those people moaning re his parent club need to give their heads a shake. The lad was a breath of fresh air in terms of ability and attitude which can only rub off on our youngsters imo. I might be wrong bit I genuinely believed him when he said in the post match interview how much he has enjoyed being here. Ty JRS go and have a fantastic career with whichever club you play forTelMc32 said:Thoroughly deserved awards for Jes last night. I thought Zach was Millwall? That's good to hear.tangoflash said:A good evening. Yes, the food wasn't great and had to stop for a mac on the way home, but it didn't spoil the evening. Had a nice chat with DH and he's 100% committed to our club and already focused on next season. No sign of Bonne and was told by a very good source (not a player or staff) is that he's already left the club (not been seen at sparrows lane recently). We had Zach Mitchell on our table. Very nice lad and proper Charlton too. Joined by Heidi Logan from the women's team. She was lovely and very chatty.

Consider myself a tennis player / F1 driver on day off, meats Weller meets Miles Kane, meets hipster, meets white rapper, meets 80's revival skinhead mod. With a bit of Jean Paul Gaultier in Gavinchy thrown in, all while looking like Dan BalzerianTodds_right_hook said:

Sorry just seen this. Would rather not say in one place, but will include through the comments I make on the various other threads, takeover, squad for next year etc etc.Ducktapeshoerepairs said:

That sounds like the sort of mess of looks that would have made the cover of i-D back in the day 😱😂Gribbo said:

Just interested to know was Steve Gallen there as not heard anything from him since before last transfer window, maybe on gardening leave.Really wonder what he actually does everyday or how many hours he works a week.1

100%, yes and planning with Dean for next season. Was at the training ground on Thursday too. Has been around throughout. Have no doubt difficult over that Winter window and big credit for his fortitude in such a cluster fcuk of a circus.Delfin said:Just interested to know was Steve Gallen there as not heard anything from him since before last transfer window, maybe on gardening leave.Really wonder what he actually does everyday or how many hours he works a week.4 -
I was lucky enough to have a long chat with him at POTY. He confirmed that he attended other games when we play. He seemed very much part of the club.Delfin said:Just interested to know was Steve Gallen there as not heard anything from him since before last transfer window, maybe on gardening leave.Really wonder what he actually does everyday or how many hours he works a week.3
