Murphy beat Carter in the final last week, he was unstoppable most of the week. I think he had the top 5 breaks or 5 of top 61

Zhao Xintong and Yan Bingtao will miss the 2023 World Snooker Championship as they await the outcome of a match-fixing investigation.
They are among 10 Chinese players facing fixing charges who will remain suspended until the end of the season.
Zhao is ranked ninth in the world and Yan is 19th.
It has been announced their disciplinary hearings will start on 24 April, which is during the World Championship at the Crucible.

Selby wins the WST Classic!
The comp was a replacement, i think for Turkish masters? not 100% but Selby defeats Pang Junxu 6-2 to win.
Next week we have the tour championship which is the top 8 in the one year ranking list go head to head best of 19(proper snooker).
World Championship qualifiers start 3rd April - 12th April

Its of a tricky one with loads of games to fill in, but none of the old guard made it through to Judgement day: Hendry, Ken Doherty, Jimmy White, nor did any of the female players
So this brings us to one of the most hectic couple of days, Judgement day! 8 will qualify by the end of today/early hours tomorrow and the final 8 will be Wednesday night/ Thursday early hours. Judgement day is broadcast live on both FB and Youtube every year and they normally flick through the tables to catch the key points and update.Judgement Day Part 1, 11am, 5pmMcgill v YupengNoppon v Zhang AndaDott v SeltUn Nooh v Ricky WaldenSi Jihai v Jordan BrownChris Wakelin v Wu YizeFan Zhengyi v Stephen MaguireJak Jones v Barry HawkinsPart 2 (Wednesday)Ryan Day v Scott DonaldsonXu Si v Pang JunxuHamilton v RobertsonSlessor v YuelongVafaei v Jackson PageHigginson v GraceMark Davis v Joe PerryMatthew Stevens v David Gilbert

So Barry Hawkins will not be at the Crucible for the first time since 2006/7 , Dott is out, Maguire, a couple deciders in there and at the halfway stage only a couple were 6-3 the rest all 5-4, one of them was overturned Wu Yize v Wakelin.
More drama today!1 -
This thread needs @paulie8290, hope you are well mate! I do miss you on here, but understand why you don't frequent as much nowadays. Any predictions for this years worlds? feels to me it might be quite open couple of with a lot of the top players not firing, although Selby looks a good shout0

Brutal finish in Mark Davis v Joe Perry match. 9-9, Davis clearing up needs just the pink, middle distance pot, misses and Perry pots a good black to win. Davis drops off the tour for the first time since 1992.1

big chance for Allen and Wilson this year as no one that i have seen is in good form. Possibly even Lisowski and Ding. though form has never stopped the big boys like Ronnie and co from finding their form when needed.1
-
I'm going for Neil Robertson this year. Not sure what his recent form is like.
I heard Shaun Murphy on 5 live earlier who sounds on good form and was speaking about his weight loss from a gastric band.
Mark Allen also has lost 6 stone this year I read and is due a good run.

I have looked based on the draw, i agree Kyren Wilson has a good chance and so does Shaun Murphy.
Actually think Ding beats Ronnie and will go deep, could potentially win it too but see him getting to semis.
I have a couple of bets based on EW longshots pre qualifiers:
Noppon (small change was 100/1)
Mcgill 66/1 - this was after he had qualified, admittedly not a nice draw but equally could see him beat Trump
Kyren outright
It's going to be tough to call, in the first round the only non seeds i had losing were : Brecel, Bingham, Milkins. Although as per, it wouldn't surprise me if half of them lost in the first round.
Underdog first round upsets i've backed -
Slessor - To beat Gary Wilson, tough one and would be a bit of a surprise, but impressed in qualifying and last time he didn't do himself justice as it was lockdown so no crowd
Perry- Against in form Milkins, although he has had a great year and arguably the form of his life, in his recent run most of his games he has won battling, if Perry lets loose after just getting over the line and scores well like he can, he definitely can beat him.
David Grace- Possibly my biggest shock, Higgins hasn't been in great form and David Grace can score heavy and equally he is a toughie, could easily see Higgins blow him away if he is on it, but if its close early it could be very tight.
Walden - Faces Brecel, Luca for me is very talented but as a touch of Lisowski early days, he hasn't really got the consistency, hasn't really settled at the crucible in the past. Walden had a great win against Un Nooh who was scoring heavy and if Ricky is not hampered with his past injuries he is always going to be a tough one to beat.0 - Sponsored links:

Murphy has recent form and just seems in a good mind set, also it helps he has a pretty nice draw. 9/1 of the faves is the value, not sure whether to commit yet or see how i do the next couple of days.
Allen was in great form until recently, tailed away a bit the last month or two but equally you could say he has a good chance. Tricky first one with the talented Fan Zhengyi who beat Maguire convincingly in qualifying, was 4-0 down but went on to win 10-6, although again Maguire not been in good form this season.1 -
Selby has come into form in the last couple of tournaments plus he has a decent draw on paper. I think it will be him or O'Sullivan who wins it.1

Added- You could also argue when he won a couple of seasons back (i forget the year) when he didn't play barely anything and turned up and won so maybe a little break of late could do him some good.0 -
Play was stopped at the World Championship after a protester vandalised table one and a second person tried to attach themselves to table two.

F***ing protesters
If that cloth needs to be changed it ruins the whole schedule
Not to mention ruin it for everyone who bought a ticket for tonight
What does ruin a snooker table have to do with Oil FFS

C***s like that need a good hiding then locked up11

Have to agree with what was shouted by the crowd (when you watch the clip). Genuinely makes me mad 😡3

Absolute c***2

If wankers like this got banged up for 12 months they wouldn't do it.
He will probably escape with a stern talking to.
Funking joke4 -
Table 1 needs a recloth despite the best efforts from Rob Walker(nothing that man can't do)
Unfortunately due to needing to be hammered(according to Hendry) it can't be done whilst the other match is on so needs to be done overnight.
So Allen and Fan will finish their match on table 2 and then a decision will be made on if Perry and Milkins can come out on table 2 tonight0
