League 2 2022/23

Good to see Orient topping the league. Very disappointed with the start Stockport have made - fancied them to challenge for promotion but struggling for goals at present.

Also, I hadn't realised that Josh Umerah was back in the EFL and playing for Hartlepool now, after a few nomadic seasons in the NL

Omar the Bogle knocking a few home for Newport
  • Pleased to see Stockport doing well after a poor start to the season. Up in the playoff spots.

After some terrible times they are now a well run club with a bit of optimism.
  • Good to see Carlisle in the automatic spots... Just need them to get promoted, and then face them away @ the end of April

Did they get their impetus after putting us out the cup?

They were already playing well when we played them
  • 5 wins on the trot for Stockport - just outside the auto promotion spots.
  • Desperately hoping Carlisle hang on in there!

  • Both Stockport and Mansfield are catching Carlisle and even Stevenage, who've suddenly had a poor patch

Good to see Gillingham pulling themselves out of trouble, sad to see Rochdale bottom, always liked our trips there.

    It really isn't.
  • Stockport have a bit of cash now don't they? Same with Mansfield and Orient... Might not be quite the obvious relegation candidates of the past in L1 next season.

They do, they're backed by a local property developer/development firm.

The owner has come out and said his objective is to get them to the championship & then look to sell at that's the furthest he feels he can take them.

Quite the plans for re-development of their ground too beginning at the end of this season:

L2 Table as at 23/2 .... League Two Table - Football - BBC Sport
  • Really tight finish to the season - hard to work out who will take the automatic spots. Very up and down form from a lot of clubs.

    Hoping Orient don't blow it.
  • Good win for Stockport yesterday. Still in with a chance of automatic promotion.
  • Stockport up to 3rd after beating Newport 4-0

Still very tight at the top. Hoping Stockport get up in the auto places.

Carlisle v Stockport a key game this week.

Really tight between 2nd and 6th for the two other automatic places, it's wide open

Amazingly Barrow could make the playoffs. Two long away trips if both Carlisle and Barrow go up  :D

hopefully Carlisle away towards the end of April  ;)
  • Big game on Saturday - Hartlepool v Crawley. Bad game to lose for either side.
  • Looks like Orient Northampton and Stevenage to go up automatically. Stockport drew with Carlisle - not a great result for either side.

Three easy away games distance wise. Unlike Wigan and Blackpool coming down.

QPR might join them - need a result against Norwich tonight. Cardiff and Reading struggling as well.
