Maybe there should be a thread specifically for the discussion of our 22/23 season which would hopefully take a lot of the non-rumours discussion away from here... although this page would certainly be very quiet without it!0

This question is for Ben Garner obviously or otherwise Ben should be pleading for Thomas Sandgaard to sanction another forward to come to the club ASAP.
I'm sure he is to Steve Gallen and Martin Sandgaard.
Big Centre forwards like Jayden who give 100% to the cause need players around then in the box. Not happening enough in the away games at the moment.0 -

Hal1x said:Chunes said:Perhaps it's the stats that are driving the club to look at a CB before a striker.
Attacking stats:
5th in the league for goals per match.
3rd in the league for expected goals.
6th in the league for shots on target per match.
Defensive stats:
8th for xG conceded (1st being worse).
10th for saves per match.
17th for clean sheets.

Some interesting unrelated stats. We're 2nd in the league for accurate long balls, behind only Fleetwood. And we're 23rd for possession won in final 3rd per match (so much for the press).1 -
Ok so if we all want a striker how about we put forward some sensible suggestions. And i dont mean Stockton.
realistic, affordable and suited to our playing style. Name please.4 -
Don’t know if it’s been mentioned but I feel we may need a striker.
Will send an urgent email to the club in case it hasn’t occurred to them.8 -

Lyle Taylor
Omar Bogle…erm that’s about it2 -
Charlton took two gambles on Ryan Inniss and Chuks Aneke. If Aneke could manage to be involved 36 matches out of 46 like two seasons ago then magic as he scored a goal every 100 minutes BUT ever since he was thrown in and Played 95 minutes on his first game back from Brum his injuries are getting worse and longer. A decent 12 month contract max and prove you can be available for an extension for Chuks would have had some validity. The crying shame is Aneke could smash League 1 defences even just playing 30 minutes from the bench most weeks.
Ryan Inniss can't play more than 15 League games in a season yet gets another contract 🤦🏻♂️
I know the coaches who have mentored Deji since he was 8 years old and they are surprised how he isn't good enough for Cafc squad in League 1?
Professional coaches, not dad's helping out!
Reality has kicked in for Thomas Sandgaard since the hyperbolic 5 year ambitions and blowing teams out of the water: it achieved the aims of selling a shed load of season tickets 14 months ago but the Charlton fan base is battered from the last decade (longer for most) and now are cynical as they see injury prone player's injured and despite a young manager with a plan, not enough players in vital positions to carry it out over the long hard grind of 46 matches.
The above isn't a rumour.

Can someone narrow down this list to exclude anyone over the age of 25, under 6 ft and slow?

So I’d have as Scott Twine on loan if it was possible.0 -

Thats a shame.1 -

I believe Courtney Baker-Richardson was on trial with us a couple of years back , think he played against Palace?1 -

Don't know if he still is.
But a centre back has to be a priority*
* in case anyone doesn't get it saying we need a centre back as a priority is a mild leg pull of those repeating ad nauseum that we need a striker.
Of course another striker would be great, as would another defender. Everyone can see that, no one is saying it isn't.
Just some of us are phlegmatic about these things and others are less so.

Didnt realise he was that old either, presumed when he was on trial with us, that he was a Swansea Youth Player who'd been released, rather than someone who'd previously had a good career in Non-League.0 -

I mean what are you... Someone in their 40s / 50s, perhaps have kids of your own, and your acting like an absolute idiot running around calling people names like your on the school playground - When you then get challenged to find proof into what your accusing you suddenly cant be bothered.
All because you cant agree with a differing opinion either
Also, didn’t Garner state that we’re after a centre back, I guess he agrees with us clueless mob…

Not good if true, but could be due to other clubs being in for him. Have doubts about Ryan Whelan but even if his source is reliable it might not be the full picture.8

Can you "officially" pull out of a race to sign a player?
And this was a deal the reporter said was done.

That statement seems like nonsense, especially when there are a dozen teams in L1 with a genuine chance of promotion2 -
