Mallik Wilkes would be lightyears ahead of signing someone like Stockton.
I called early in the window he was the one I wanted. I really can’t see it happening though, it’s the hope that kills.7

I can tell you it won't happen seeing as the club has just sacked Olly Groome to save a few pennies.5
-
Wilks would be a fantastic signing but I'd be surprised if he moved south.3

Imagine a fluid attacking front 3 of JRS*, CBT and Wilks.Would be very much like MK Dons Parrot, Twine and Eisa front 3 last year. Just potentially even better.*If JRS turns out to be any good.5

Has anyone asked Richard Cawley ?0

He can play out wide and as a striker.golfaddick said:

 More importantly he scores goals.5

Gulp, that’s it, if they can’t afford to keep Olly then we ain’t getting no striker. Garner could be a hero and squeak us into the play offs. I’m usually optimistic but this is not looking good.MuttleyCAFC said:I can tell you it won't happen seeing as the club has just sacked Olly Groome to save a few pennies.0

Need more info or where this has been heard. From Garners comments yesterday to Wilkes on a Permanent in 24 hours is in the ridiculous even for Charlton standards.4

Unless of course this is a return to the bad old days when the manager was the last person to hear about any signings.ValleyGary said:Need more info or where this has been heard. From Garners comments yesterday to Wilkes on a Permanent in 24 hours is in the ridiculous even for Charlton standards.
I don't think it's true, I hope it's baseless from me but in the light of recent events my cynicism is ramping right up.1

I really am not reading anything into Garner's comments. Saying you're desperate for players just increases their price. I'd be absolutely stunned if we sign no one else before September.ValleyGary said:Need more info or where this has been heard. I love a half-time player unveiling! The Fuller one was superbRichard J said:
Chris Powell was a master at that. Once he fielded a question about Ricardo Fuller saying he didn’t realise that he was available and he would look not it.24 hours later he signed.Dazzler21 said:Or Garner is holding his cards close... Blah blah blah...4

A lot of people took his comment to mean we're not signing anyone. He actually said we wouldn't sign a striker 'unless things move or change'. Well shock horror, things do move and change daily in football.Pelling1993 said:
