He is on the bench for Forest in the Premier League today. He is hardly going to consider dropping down two divisions to L1.Lincsaddick said:swallow the hubris and anger and try to get Lyle Taylor back on loan .. he knows the club and more importantly knows how to score goals1 -
Would you let your contract be torn up so you could take a pay cut? I wouldn’t.MuttleyCAFC said:I presume we took up the contract extension because we thought we would get a few quid for him. It was reported JFC was not over the moon about it. Not sure how that squares with paying somebody to take him off our hands. More likely we would cancel the contract by mutual consent surely.

Good point. I doubt he will be going to Wimbledon.0

And 'whatever that means' is all important here. What we know is that Thomas is tightening his belt, so what you suggest flies in the face of that, so until we are told more, I won't be jumping to conclusions. I admit that was an odd comment though and I don't know what he meant by iteastterrace6168 said:So JFC may be joining JJ at AFCW, but only if we "help JJ out", whatever that means, looks like the old CAFC charity is again being asked, so we are not so much possibly selling him on, more a case of paying someone to take him off our hands, but that is increasingly looking like the only way this is going to be resolved, what a way to run a ship...🙄🤷♂️0 -
But surely with JFC being such a great player clubs will be falling over themselves to buy him ? Oh wait ! 🙄0

No one that can afford will want him until he proves he is fully recovered from his injury. Quite rightly, can you imagine if we signed a player that had started 1 league game in 14 months?AndyG said:But surely with JFC being such a great player clubs will be falling over themselves to buy him ? How we thought we could sell him under those conditions is beyond me.2 -
Cutting the football budget is unlikely to increase the team's chance of success, which in turn means more years of losses. And JFC and Gilbey wouldn't cost anything approaching a seven-figure sum between them in wages.eaststandmike said:
Or reduce the £8m losses down to £4m as TS has stated,sam3110 said:JFC and Gilbey both off the books would help a lot in being able to bring in a striker IMO2 -
Thats how you know Nixon is full of shit. Edwards plays for Dundee United not Motherwell.Scoham said:16 -
Washington going to the Championship, JFC going to League 2. Not many on here will have predicted that at the end of last season.1

JFC going to Wimbledon probably frees up the sale of McCormick.
McCormick & Gilbey being linked with Pompey. I’d love to see us try for McCormick and offload Gilbey to the south coast.3 -
JFC to Wimbledon with Luke McCormick coming the other way would be good.6

Why are people so wanting to hate this man, who as I can see it, is trying to run this club so that we never have to go through what we went through just before he arrived again.Doomer Jon said:As I thought yesterday - us not buying a forward to replace Washington cost us a victory. That is on TS.
He isn’t perfect but continuous blaming and hating on him must get so depressing for people. They’ve said they have to balance the books. We’re looking so much better already than last year.42 -
The problem wasn't who went off it was who came on. Leaburn is too young & too raw, esp against the centre backs that Sheff wed had.Bostonaddick said:
Yet somehow everything went to shit after they were subbed out. Hmmm.cazo said:Stockley and Kirk can fuck right off asap because thay bring fuck all to this team stockley was bad won fuck all
I contest that if Aneke, Stockton, Bishop or Alfie May had come on instead of Leaburn we would have had a greater chance of grabbing a goal.3 -
Although I agree with you, being better than last season is a pretty low bar to compare against.RC_CAFC said:

I'm fearing that for want of a decent striker a top 6 spot could be lost. Oh well.....3 -
I would call TS my straw. I don't hate him and I think a case could be made that he is the best owner we have had in years, but look at what we have had. I am a camel and he is the straw that has broken my back. Others may have been haystacks, but I have been watching us in this shit league too long and that isn't Sandgaards fault although it is on him to get us out of it and I don't think he will. I want him to but I can't lie or convince myself otherwise.RC_CAFC said:

I won't protest and I will hope something changes but I am a bit depressed about it to be honest and because he is the straw, my patience levels are close to zero.1 -
The only reason I am sceptical about JFC to AFC is that he once played for MK Dons.
Will AFC fans overlook this?0 -
They probably would to be honest.0

My two kids aged 4 and 8 are less needy then some of the posters since 4:40 yesterday.

JFC, Gilbey, Kirk and McG leaving would be a good thing.
Replace with a CB, LB, Striker, GK and another winger.
One player more than currently which is no issue with squad size.
Obviously won't happen but it would be great if it did.3 -
Other than Kirk I can’t see there being a huge queue of clubs looking to sign those players, and he’s the one I’d least like to lose from those. And even if there is interest in the other 3, they will probably only be loans or transfers where we are still paying some of their wages. So a rebuild like that is unlikely. Will probably be 2 out 2 in I reckonAthletico Charlton said:JFC, Gilbey, Kirk and McG leaving would be a good thing.

Take a break mate.MuttleyCAFC said:You probably can't see there are not enough goals in the team.
You would probably say the same but I don't rate your football knowledge.9 -
I certainly don’t hate him. Am grateful to him for saving the club. But I suspect if he wants to balance the books, the team will not be successful (my definition of success being promotion) any time soon.RC_CAFC said:

We’re looking so much better already than last year.Apparently he wants to reduce annual losses by £4M, £1M through cost efficiencies and £2-3M through increased revenue. Roughly speaking that equates to ~ another £100K per game, say another 4-5,000 spectators per game. Great that the style of play appears more attractive than last season but results is what will help improve gates and maybe that requires more investment on additional striking options than TS is willing to pay.1 -
If we got all those players in we would probably loan out Clayden as well.Athletico Charlton said:JFC, Gilbey, Kirk and McG leaving would be a good thing.

I am not sure why people are so keen on MacGillivray going, I get that people think he might want to go. From a purely football point of view would anyone we would be likley to get in as a replacement be better?
If JFC AND Gilbey both go we would probably need another center mid as well?
Personally I think it's too late to add 5 or 6 players to the squad. It's unlikely they would have played games so would be behind. How do you then get those 5, McGrandels, Mandela and JRS, not to even mention Aneke, up to speed now the season has started?
That's nearly half your squad it's too many IMO.
A striker, a center back ASAP and try and ship one of the midfielders out, if you can. That would still give you room for maneuver if someone suddenly became available at the last minute. Then look at freshening it up a bit in January.2 -
Doesn't really matter how low the bar is, it is an improvement on last season, can't do any better than that,..can you, and the window still has some time to go, so regarding all this "all hope is lost stuff" save it for then and if we have not added strength to the front line, you will no doubt end up with some support for your pessimism...golfaddick said:

Should probably take a break if the club's making you depressed. You seem like you're getting all Bowyer-y again and that's surely a sign to give yourself some time offMuttleyCAFC said:

Because Roland still owns the Valley and TG the lack of assets means we will only attract crooks or not very savvy people like TS as owners. I’m afraid TS is the best we’ll get until Roland releases his disastrous grip on the club. I count ourselves fortunate we have him.MuttleyCAFC said:That with all due respect is your issue rather than mine. I have said we can disagree with how a few times but I'll say it once more in case it takes a while to permiate. I think Cole Stockton would be a potential solution but the issue is bringing more goals in the team however that is best done, which I have said - please read before you come to conclusions if that is possible. I have a view of a solution and the problem. We can disagree on the soloution but ought to agree on the problem unless we have rose tinted specs.
I am looking at it all in the round and trying to find evidence it will come good, but I see somebody who knows not a lot, employing those that suck up to him and making poor decisions. Yes he not a crook, yes he is spendinging his money but he is not spending it wisely IMO. Playing his song at the start of last season was crass, especially as the squad was clearly wanting. Behind the scenes it is well reported that it is chaos from multiple sources. I could like that song if it was played after every victory.
This beer thing is the latest load of crap. He is so out of his depth IMO that I can't see him ever being a success here and we should remember that we will never be sustainable as a League One club so it is important we get out of it. I'm not going to protest, just lose my enthusiasm and excitment for the club I have loved all my life as a safety valve for my hapiness, because I think the owner might be a plonker. An honest plonker but a plonker all the same.
If you want to disagree, fine but look where that is coming from. I don't want Sandgaard to be a plonker. I'd like him to run the club well with all my heart. I just think he will ultimately damage us because of the sort of person he is.12
