Who cares if he’s telling porkies about finances…..pro football is shot through with it, as is the business world in general, it’s dog eats dog out there, so why does it bother you…..as fans it’s none of our business when you come to think of it.FAVADDICK said:
Thomas will tell you what ever you want to here, doesn't mean it's true, there's no way we have the 4th biggest budget, not with derby, Sheffield Wednesday, Barnsley, Ipswich, Peterborough, Wycombe, Bolton and Portsmouth, so I would imagine that another lieHenry Irving said:

Why do you feel the need to run and ask him things like this, it's pretty sad to be honestchev said:Spoke to ts we have 4th biggest budget in league 1
People have been debating where our budget sits so someone asked the owner who said 4th.
That sounds about right to me but it depends on your view on TS (and Chev) and his honesty.
Not sure why it's "sad" to add info to the debate.
You and a few others, are just finding an extremely tenuous way to have a dig at him at every opportunity, which is way OTT in my opinion.
As far as I’m concerned it goes in one ear and straight out the other.6 -

We can’t sign anyone until Richard Cawley is back from holiday.Mendonca In Asdas said:I think we’ll bring in another one by the end of the week.

Transfer budget and total budget are being interchanged here. I don't think everyone is talking about the same thing, which is confusing matters.SoundAsa£ said:
How do you know he doesn’t…..he has a very experienced person in Steve Gallen who will no doubt be constantly passing on pertinent information.jakecafc said:
How does he even know what other teams budgets are? Chatting bollocks as usual old Tommychev said:Spoke to ts we have 4th biggest budget in league 1
You say he’s talking bollocks as if to slag him off.
All people involved in the football transfer market will say what they think is the best thing to say at any given moment because at the end of the day, it’s a game of poker.
It doesn’t bother me a jot whether he, Gallen and Garner are saying different things…..they are white lies anyway as far as I’m concerned.
Tell me anyone in professional football who openly tells the truth regarding their transfer budget…..I can’t think of one?
Thomas, Garner, Gallen et al will know the total budget of every club in the division. Because the EFL tells them.
What they won't know is how much anyone else is prepared to pay for something. They can make an educated guess.
This isn't a question aimed at anyone especially but if Accrington spend 200k more on transfer fees than us but our wage bill is 2 million higher, who has the bigger budget?1 -
            Transfer rumours, anyone?4

Badly need a left footed centre back and a left footed LB.Oh Eddie Youds... said:He said we’re short of defenders with Egbo being out injured….so full back cover would seem more likely.
Completely get the early concerns about O’Connell but hopefully he will come good. If not we have Lavelle, Ness, Elerewe (on recall) and even Clare as an option to play there instead. I would also like another CB (bearing in mind Inniss could breakdown at any min) but we atleast have more options there than we have at full back. If Sessegnon gets injured we have to play a winger (Claydon) there and if Clare gets injured we have to play a CB at RB (Ness or Barker etc).2 -

Very little chance of getting both I'd say, more likely to get one left footed defender who can cover both in a pinch.JamesSeed said:

Is it that odd for negotiations to last a week? I assume not.golfaddick said:

I would have thought that a week is the bare minimum it would take, sometimes it can take months.Stu_of_Kunming said:

He's a teenage reserve player at Crystal Palace, it's not as if it's Messi with a ton of clauses and images rights to consider. Even with negotiations i can't see how it takes longer than a couple of weeks.LargeAddick said:

Yeah, agreed. Sessegnon says he’s equally happy playing on the left or right.thenewbie said:

I had forgotten it. Thanks a lot.Oggy Red said:Scoham said:
You’d think so, but that doesn’t fit with the idea of attacking full backs.Oggy Red said:
And perhaps he'll be a CB who can also comfortably cover at LB?Scoham said:
Garner mentioned bringing in one or two attacking options, I don’t think he confirmed we’re after a full back? I think a CB is more likely given we only have three senior players there.Bostonaddick said:Anyway back to talking about transfers instead of budgets. We know we are looking to upgrade at wide forward/winger and fullback, my biggest fear is that we aren’t looking at another center half. I just don’t think some combination of innis, O’Connell and Lavelle is good enough to get promoted.
Clayden may well play more than many expect, and like Clare we shouldn’t be fixed to the idea that his best position is in midfield. It’s not uncommon for wingers to convert to full back.
Deary me, I nearly forgot Paul Smyth in that 4-4 draw with Rochdale!4 -

What message? That a load of people on a forum are suggesting they go to Orient, Wimbledon or Gillingham?DOUCHER said:I’m hoping the likes of jfc and gilbey have got the message and move on - goal scorer needed anc we need to throw everything at it
We are going to use 4 CMs every game, maybe 5 in most. To only have 5 would be as silly as having 7. If they aren't happy that's a different matter but I would be supprised if both went and we didn't bring someone else in.1 -

As said above, he's a youngster who's not really broken through to the first team, not bloody Mo Salah. He should be signing an improved contract without haste & getting on with his life.ValleyGary said:

I couldn't give two shits if the lad signs it or not, but its holding up OUR plans for OUR season.10 -

TS should pay the difference in the negotiations to push the deal through so we get our man a few weeks earlier! We are obviously struggling out wide at the moment.
By the way, didn't Elewere's contract take months? And I think this kid is a bit higher profile than him.

Longer the transfer saga drags on, the more expectation he's gonna come with
If he doesn't hit the ground running, then there will be instant comments of: "What was the fuss about"
I mean just look at the reaction that O'Connell has had after just two games.
Agree with Golfie, what is the hold up, sounds like the lad is being poorly advised when he should focus on his Football... Rather than his bank balance, if he's good enough (and has that opinion himself), then that should take of itself later down the line.1 -

People are entitled to negotiate for what they feel they deserve at any age, I assume you don’t tell your own kids just to sign whatever they’re offered based on their age?6 -
