Yes. Sausagedog11 on Twitter who broke the news that we interviewed Garner has since said he's left Swindon.

Newly promoted Forest Green Rovers have appointed Notts County boss Ian Burchnall as their new head coach.

That's quite a leap, from NL to a newly promoted L1 side.

so a fellow League One side have appointed a manager whose team last season finished fifth in the National League. And some were moaning about Garner and Swindon failing in the play offs. FGR fans must apolcolaptic on Forest Green Life.

a determined Grimsby unexpectedly beat Notts C in the Nat League playoffs this week .. County are a good side if a little lacking in defence .. Dale Vince has a history of appointing youngish managers/coaches from lower/non league clubs .. I expect Burchnall will do a good job, he'll certainly be well financed and be expected to go vegan, if he's not already :)

Notts County is near my neck of the woods and I know a lot of fans have wanted him sacked for a while, even before they lost out in the play offs so a little surprised at this news.

He plays very possession based football and I know a few fans think his style doesn't suit the National League, which in fairness is actually a much higher standard than people give it credit for, however still very physical.

An interesting appointment though, FGR got their last one spectacularly right so good luck to him.

I wonder if Forest Green are slightly more limited in respect of managerial choices given they insist the manager buys into the players having the vegan diets etc.

This might well be true. However a vegetarian diet in itself is not nutritionally limiting.

KELTY HEARTS FC ACCEPT MANAGER’S RESIGNATION

Manager, Kevin Thomson, and Assistant Manager, Kevin McDonald, have today tendered their resignations which have been accepted by the club board.

Over recent weeks it became apparent that Kevin’s aspirations lay away from Kelty Hearts Football Club.

Have no fear FGR fans. CL fans will be apoplectic on your behalf. 👍

What are the nutrients that only exist in taurine and nowhere else?

Both at Liverpool together  and more money at Villa. Plus Blackpool maybe won’t be that strong next season and it’s the right time and opportunity to move on

    Weird one.

Beale leaves to be a no1 at a Championship club, Critchley does the opposite.

Klopp leaves Liverpool in 2024, Gerrard takes over and Critchley is the new Villa numero uno

That's the end of Kirk's possible move to Blackpool  he was with Critchley at Crewe and went to Blackpool when he went there.

Kirk to Villa will be the next thing you read on the Summer Rumours thread.

Think of Garner comes in, he’ll do everything he can to make Kirk feel loved and comfortable. CBT and Kirk could be important for the way he would like us to play.

If Kirk wants to move it’s only going to be back up north and with Critchley gone to Villa, that move he wanted to Blackpool is off. What other club is there up north in that area of the country who might take him? Only League One club I could think of would be Bolton.

CBT (as long as he does get injured in Spain) one side and Kirk on the other could be really good imo as long as the Manager can get Charlie boys head in the right place so he wants to play for us. Midfield of Dobson, Frazier, Gilbey ( I know 😂 ) could be very good with those two as outlets

    I doubt it

Choosing to leave a managerial job (which was going well at a club on the up) to become an assistant again makes me question whether he wants to be the No 1, whether he wants the responsibility

More likely Critchley thinks that scenario will happen and he’ll get to join Gerrard and be Liverpool no.2 which will be a dream role for him.

It’s a brilliant move by Gerrard, Critchley is an outstanding coach who’s worked wonders at Blackpool.

Speaking to Lavelle in April, was saying that Critchley is very highly thought of in football and gets the best out of the players he has. Lavelle is also a Blackpool supporter so had an added interest in what Critchley is like.

I make it a good move for him. He’s proved to be very good as a number one but goes as a number two in a Premier League job earning very good money, working with some top players, and if he wants to go back as a number one, his record at Blackpool will still encourage clubs.

Klopp just signed a new contract extension a few weeks ago to 2026. He's not going anywhere for years.
