Shame Man City didnt try to con United into signing some of our players over the summer.Chris_from_Sidcup said:
Whilst the money the Glazers have taken out of the club is well documented, they've still spent a fortune. A lot of their problems lie with just how badly United have spent their money. In the last 10 years, United have the highest net spend of any club in the world (903m), higher than Chelsea and Liverpool combined and what do they have to show for it?North Lower Neil said:It's been a shame to see the Glazers leech off of them for years, they're basically being made less than the sum of their parts through dividends and loan repayments going out, incompetent CEOs and transfer decisions (sound familiar?).
Somehow the fact it's been poor ownership does strike a chord a bit.
And I don't mind them as much as Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal.
But then I see where we and a lot of other clubs are and remember it's not that bad for them really!
90m Pogba
80m Maguire
50m Wan Bissaka
50m Fred
55m Martial
40m Matic
35m Lindelof
40m Van de Beek
75m on Sancho who hasn't really done well this season.
Then there is Ronaldo. Obviously I can see why they went and got him, he's a club icon and they didn't want him going to City, but United came 2nd last season playing a certain way, fast, counter attacking football, were unbeaten away from home as well. He's far from the problem, but it's obvious he doesn't fit the way they play. You'd have thought they'd learnt their lesson after snatching Alexis Sanchez away from City.0 -
Just looking at Everton remaining fixtures, I think they are going to struggle to pick up many points.
Watch them go and beat spurs tonight now0 -
I'd love to see Everton go down. They hold the record for the most seasons in the top flight. They had a great team in the mid eighties but in my lifetime they have otherwise nearly always been in midtable obscurity.0

I like Everton, fans I've met of theirs always seem decent, and pretty self-depreciating - a bit like Man City before the takeover, they're the non glory hunting ones in their city.
And I quite like that they have that record and it's not Arsenal, Liverpool etc.2 -

For me, Charlton and more importantly Jacko have actually continued to develop every single season. It’s not like they go out and buy the the “superstars” like Chelsea, United etc do. to try and remain a dominating force. Look at Lee, Kirk, Leko, Gunter, the list goes on. Every year Jacko seems to get improvement out of them. This year, they seemed to have hit a height no English team has ever hit and they’ve had to or Liverpool would be ahead of them.Athletico Charlton said:Not sorry for UTD. But bored of Man City's dominance of UK football.

Are you a PL team struggling?
You need a visit from (to) Dr Tottenham.
Always happy to oblige and guaranteed to perk up a poorly firing attack. The equivalent of poorly football viagra.5 -
Spurs giving Everton a right Kaning!0

Even before tonight you'd won 2 in 3.JohnBoyUK said:Are you a PL team struggling?

Don't know you're born, try getting 1 point from 18 in League One.

I was just going to post that - following 14 points from their first 7 matches they have picked up a ridiculous 8 points from their last 18 PL games. They are sleepwalking into relegation because there is always at least one of the bottom three teams at this time of year that has a run that takes them out of the relegation zoneGravesend_Addick said:Everton are bang in trouble0 -
Bet the Everton equivalent of CL is in meltdown. They look awful.2

I love you Harry Kane0

Different class from Kane0

Lampard is the most overrated manager. Glad he's getting found out.
Did a bad job at Derby and a worse one at Chelsea.1 -
FFS need this lot to do the Nigels in FA Cup. Zero chance on this display2

Super Frankie was a great appt.0

The sooner Spurs exercise their option to buy Kulusevski the better it would be for them - total loan and purchase cost of £37m is a snip for a 21 year old of his skill, vision and physicality3

He should have got Derby promoted. He failed.cafcfan1990 said:

Strengthened with players like Mason Mount, Harry Wilson and Tomori.
Chelsea basically gave him their best youth players for the season.
Still finished 20 points behind 1st and got into the playoffs by one point. No progression at all.0 -
Both him and Bentacur are technically better than anything we've got at the club bar Kane and Sonny.Addick Addict said:The sooner Spurs exercise their option to buy Kulusevski the better it would be for them - total loan and purchase cost of £37m is a snip for a 21 year old of his skill, vision and physicality1 -
Settling that quickly bodes well too.JohnBoyUK said:

Thought the ball that fell to Kane for his second goal was similar to the chance Stockley blasted wide in the last minute on Saturday.
Ah well, that's the difference I guess. That's what you get in League one.0 -
So no progression = bad job? He did sign two great young players from Chelsea but surely also deserves credit for developing them? He also lost Vydra. There were some good teams in the play offs that season, they beat a Leeds side who romped the league the following season and ended up losing to a strong Villa side.SELR_addicks said:

I'm not saying Lampard is a great manager, and he got the Chelsea job being a legend and is fortunate to have got the Everton job. But saying he did a "bad" job is bollocks. Out of interest, did they progress and finish higher than 6th after he left?0 -

Not sure how people can say Lampard did a bad job.
In 18-19 he got Derby to the play off final. Since he left they finished 10th and 21st.
In 19-20 he went to Chelsea, who had just lost Hazard to Madrid and were on a transfer embargo, so he had to integrate a lot of kids who hadn't played at that level. They finished 4th and he got them to the FA Cup final beating Liverpool, Leicester and Man U on the way. How's that a failure?7
