Everton at home to Leeds on Saturday, a crucial game for both sides
  • Probably pissing in the wind, but that Newcastle win leaves Palace only six points above the drop - Cmon Norwich win tomorrow and really drag them back into it.

Equally if the bottom three keep grinding out these points, there will be a good few teams in a relegation battle yet.

Realistically already think its anyone from Brentford downwards.
Ffs it’s 8 points , I’m sad enough to have checked and thought it was 7 points , re checked due to your post getting my hopes up and ifs fucking 8 points and their goal diff is just the 29 better than 3rd bottoms

Only 3 teams have a worse away record than Palace. Their next 3 away from home are against teams below them in the table. Here’s hoping they lose all 3 and get really pulled into it.

Newcastle starting to click now, 8 points from 4 games and could've scored 5 or 6 last night. Everton are definitely right in trouble, also picked up a couple of injuries too.

Yeah sorry, for some reason I was looking at Newcastle's points, thought they were on the same as Norwich.

Even more reason for a Norwich win tonight
  • Trying to work out how I got 7 … must have been looking at Brentford’s points … we’re all wibble !!

39 seconds on the clock and Palace are one down

Long way to go for Norwich to hang on tonight, but great to see palace only 6 points off bottom 3, with almost every team below them with games in hand.

Oh Pukki, that should have been 2.
Had a chance to make it 2 a few minutes ago but that one was even worse.

Takes Leeds above Palace as it stands

Cheers - League table on the BBC website hadn't updated.

The BBC site updates painfully slowly. I'd recommend the app Flashscore UK for relatively ad-free and thorough coverage of pretty much every league
  • That Mahrez penalty reminded me of how Bob Curtis used to take them for us back in the 1970s albeit that he was right footed - side foot to the top corner. Even if keepers did guess the right way they had zero chance of stopping it.

Villa are playing some lovely football.
    Coutinhos passing is wonderful.
    Ramsey and Buendia are excellent

Villa v Leeds is a cracking game so far, 5 goals in the first half and looks like more to come. James a real handful so far and Coutinho is class for Villa.

Off side  in the pouring rain by Spurs means that the Saints win 3-2 in a game where they had about 17 attempts at goal

Best team Spurs have played home and away all season.
  • That second yellow for Konsa was very similar to Gilbey's yesterday
  • I liked the huffy look at the pitch afterwards.  Yeah, definitely the pitch despite it being in perfect condition, not you putting your foot down at  stupid angle because you were trying some clever penalty.
