Stockley out injuredAneke probably injuredBurstow never to be seen again.
4231 for Wimbledon.
Absolutely bonkers.
How many more time are we going to let players go late in the window when we can't replace.11 -
I like him but he hasn't show enough to warrant Chelsea to buy him or do Chelsea buy any kid with a hint of promise....defining moment for TS's reign here....if he goes than we are back where we were with RD1

Happens all the time. Speeds up personal terms if the clubs can work on agreeing a deal.Chris_from_Sidcup said:So Jackson tells Sky that Burstow is talking to a club but Sandgaard tells Jim White they haven't met our valuation.
How's he allowed to talk to a club if we haven't accepted a bid?0 -
I agree. Just posted this on the main transfer thread.LargeAddick said:Think a club will get a deal done tonight as if not they will pay more in the summer. Plus if Mason has spoken to Chelsea and been offered xyz and it doesn’t get done well I can’t see him being too happy, I wouldn’t be in his position.
You don't let a player speak to another club unless you've agreed a fee otherwise you'll have a seriously pissed off player on your hands.3 -
Surely not if you let him know the terms beforehand. Disappointed? Most probably. Pissed off? I suppose that depends on his temperament.golfaddick said:

Football really is in lunacy street. How on earth can Chelsea or anyone else just hoover up players like this without end. I hate football sometimes.36

No, I think you do, especially on deadline day, but the deal most be close otherwise you are setting problems for yourself with the player.golfaddick said:

Why not, as long as you fill them in before they go that unless the bid is accepted it's not happening.golfaddick said:

I suspect the agreeing to terms between the new club and a player happens all the time, deadline day or not, officially or not. As you say, it does particularly make practical sense toward the end of the day on Deadline Day.Exiled_Addick said:ForeverAddickted said:Very confusing this eveningWe've allowed him to talk and potentially agree his personal terms while we work on agreeing a fee. I imagine it's pretty standard when you have less than 24 hours to get the deal done, you must have to run certain pieces of it parallel.Of course, just because Chelsea have had a bid turned down doesn't mean there isn't another Premier League club in for him who may have matched our asking price.0 -

Probably never play for them but will maybe, like Gallagher will, be sold to a PL club for £20 plus million.ForeverAddickted said:Silly boy... This is just the start of his loan journey1 -
Not sure I really want to see him back on loan, whats the point?10

Now we have too many loans1

Is rather not have him back on loan. Give Kanu his place in the squad.Callumcafc said:13 -
Football is a short career, so good luck to Mason. Hope he adds more goals for us, and then goes on to play regularly in the Prem. The opportunity is there, I'm sure he'll work hard at it.

What do we think a decent fee is? 6m, plus add ons?Not sure why we’d want him back on loan at this point. I’d be looking at letting Kanu get a few games, not some Chelsea loan who’ll be gone next season.1

"He was one of our own"
Totally gutted.

Well two werent involved today, so might not overly matter - Also means we've two Chelsea players on loan, so am sure they can be a bit understanding if one gets left out every other weekLeeds_Addick said:Now we have too many loans0 -
I'd put a lot of money on him never playing for Chelsea. While we remain in league 1 we will not keep hold of players like him when the big boys come to the table.4

Leaves a bitter feeling.10
