He had problems with that knee before the ACL and they used the surgery to kill two birds with one stone - making it a more significant recovery period.cafcfan1990 said:

No, he doesn’t look like the Andy Carroll type injury prone player, but it only takes one knee injury to end a career.cafcfan1990 said:

I agree, but I think it’s partly because they lack that bit of grit, fighting spirit and plain nastiness that many other clubs’ players seem to have. Totally, it's the sort of injury that at the very least can leave a significant impact on the way the player recovers, even if it doesn't end the career. I'll remain optimistic because he clearly had talent before the injury, but I understand the pessimism. I don't however agree that he should be labelled "injury prone" because he suffered one terrible injury.ElliotCAFC said:

I think we have deeper issues than recruitment. I really would like to see this entire squad thrown into the sea and rebuilt, every last one of them. It feels like it doesn't matter who we sign, who we have in charge, there seems to be a weird mentality at the club where we're never far from total footballing collapse. We were great under Adkins last season, new formation, players refreshed. The manager building up the likes of DJ and Gilbey and getting us winning games and missing out on the Play-Offs on goal difference. Next season those same players, with some good additions, couldn't be arsed. Stockley went from unplayable battering ram to spectator, DJ went from aggressive winger to light jogger, Gilbey re-Gilbeyed and the new players never got going. So Adkins out, in comes Jackson and another formation change and the same thing happens again. Dobson goes from pantomime character to colossus, Matthews is a quality centre back, DJ and Leko are reborn as wing-backs, Purrington starts challenging Lewandowski for the European Golden Boot, Washington gets to go up front and starts scoring again, Clare finds his niche as a CB when Matthews gets injured (at least that's consistent). And then just as suddenly, it's collapse again. It feels like we're constantly reliant on one or two players being brilliant to get anything going at all. Once we lost Stockley and Washington this Jackson formation turned us back into clueless nothings, and even getting Chuks back hasn't changed things fully, we're reliant on an 18 year old academy graduate to bail us out at the moment. There's something rotten at the core with this squad. We've signed players who on the face of it should be good enough, we signed Charlie Kirk, the player who created the most in the league last season, and he was immediately worthless. I'm not having this 'he needs an overlapping fullback or he's literally a traffic cone' horseshit either, you could have given him prime Roberto Carlos going outside him and he still would have been the same tentative, confused nothing that he's been for us. I'm willing to give plenty of support to the idea that moving so far just after his dad died has been difficult for him, but regardless of that he's not the only one who has come in and not met anything like the level we would have expected. We've now loaned Kirk, our marquee signing, up a division where he'll no doubt do well. Our midfield three of Dobson, Lee and Gilbey has gone from dominating top teams to Dobson dragging the other two around by their collars trying to keep up with the entire opposition midfield. We've been reduced to playing Albie Morgan instead. Albie Morgan. The only value in giving Morgan an extended run is seeing how many pages the 'maybe Albie just needs a run/no he's terrible/maybe this time/nope' thread can get to. It's exhausting because it just feels like we could have a brilliant window where we bring in what looks like everything we need, change the manager again for the biggest up and coming tactical genius going at our level, and go about 10 games before all the players collapse like dolls and allow the likes of Cheltenham and Morecambe to scalp them again. I dunno, what do you even do at this point? I feel like the apathy is setting in because we're never truly going to clear this lot out like Powell managed to do so we'll be permanently infecting new players with our weird brand of failure before we can get the old ones out.I miss Yann.22

I’m not sure that he’s “seen as good enough for the Championship”, the fact that it’s a loan with an option to buy suggests to me that Blackpool think he could be good enough but he’s going to have to prove himself over the next few months.addick1956 said:
