Off_it said:I see the old VAR thread doesn't even get an outing these days. Ridiculous decision after ridiculous decision and we all now just shrug our shoulders and have to accept it.
Still, it's nice that the referees don't make so many obvious errors these days ...... so the pro-VAR disciples must be happy.
(I'll give it a while before the old "It's not VAR that's the problem" line gets trotted out)
If everyone watching the game on tv can see an incident, how can the clowns in the VAR room not see it?1 -
Highest paid refs in the world by the way.0 -
Mainly their fans from the Peoples Republic of Scouseland.
Spent their life bunking in thinking they have a divine right to be in a football ground whenever their teams play. It's happened for donkeys years and the tragedy as it was, they were still partially to blame for Hillsborough, where of course it was mainly the innocents who suffered.2 -

How teams react to a new manager. Tottenham under Conté are having a go, they are getting 'stuck in', no more an easy touch for the 'harder' teams in the Prem .. and about time that Liverpool had a few VAR decisions go against them .. I hope that the Man Cittteeeehh luvvies soon start to get the rougher end of the VAR regimes decisions0

On the disliking Liverpool thing, I remember reading this years back:
As it was in a hotel book swap type thing on holiday.
It was basically "How we robbed and stole our way around Europe to watch Liverpool", stories about jumping barriers, nicking off employers, intimidating train guards to stay on trains with no tickets, robbing all the food and drink from the buffet cars and platform cafes all the way, "taking over" areas of cities and abusing the locals, shoving their way into games then brushing over Heysel etc.
Wasn't it hilarious, those were the days, brilliant...
Really made me dislike them a lot more than I had (and I had a healthy dislike of them as one of the big clubs!).
Like the arseholes writing nostalgia books about the firms.5 -

We've been lining up 3-4-3 from the start but yesterday forced into a 5-3-2. But there's no doubt there's a gulf in quality between the two sides. I have to admit, seeing the line up and the middle 3 of Dombers - Winks - Dele had me absolutely crapping my pants beforehand, thinking oh for the love of god we're going to get taken to the cleaners, I'd absolutely snap your hands off for a draw but it could be 5, 6 or even more...
But this is Conte's Spurs now. The back 3 of Dier, Sanchez and Davies look reasonably solid. They are certainly much more organised and well drilled now. I've got to be fair to them, my thoughts on Winks and Dele are well known, I think they both should have been shifted out by now but yesterday both showed exactly what they can do. They both worked their b*ll*cks off, and most importantly, they both looked to drive forwards. Dele looked hungry. He looked like he wanted it. I havent seen that from him since before he signed his big contract. We pressed on a trigger. Haven't had that since Poch. Sessegnon looks like the left-sided player we thought we bought from Fulham. He proved he can defend yesterday and against other opposition, he will get forward more too.
That game yesterday showed the dilemma of Dombers. Going forward, he can pick a pass with the best of them, he can hold the ball, he brings others into the game. You would want him in the team. But from a defending point of view, on the right of a midfield three, his lack of Conte's desired fitness levels, it puts additional pressure on the RWB and Right-sided CB. He certainly put in a shift yesterday.
We are moving in the right direction. Being kicked out of Europe will help massively, so we can concentrate on finishing as high up the league now as possible and hopefully but a cup run together.

There is a general conversation that needs to be had about the standard of officiating in this country. Particularly this season it has been awful.
Referees and PGMOL would rather change the rules to suit a decision than admit they made a mistake during a game also. It's embarrassing.0 -
Funny how suddenly everyone’s up in arms about refereeing the moment Liverpool are on the wrong end of a decision.#prayforliverpool5

If the FA have got some balls, they should be writing to Klopp for his comments before charging him for bringing the game into disrepute.
Go back a couple of seasons, when Poch had his meltdown against Burnley went Sonny and Foyth were sent off, Poch ended up with a touchline ban for what he said afterwards. What Klopp said yesterday directly to the ref yesterday was worse so its only right he gets the same treatment but you know full well the FA let him off with absolutely everything. Remember when he literally ran on to the centre circle celebrating a last min Merseyside derby winner? As its him, he gets away with showing passion. If that was Conte yesterday, he'd get charged.
I just think its absolutely despicable that Klopp gets away with so much.1 -

Tierney was also the referee for Liverpool v City back in October when Milner kicked lumps out of Foden and, for some reason, didn’t get sent off.
Selective memory Jurgen.
Still some bad decisions yesterday though.1 -
They all have selective memory and eyesight.
Arsenal had about 100 red cards but Wenger never saw any of the incidents.2 -
I see that Pep has now said that Foden and Grealish were dropped for the Newcastle game (although admittedly only to the bench) after both players went out clubbing after City's midweek thrashing of Leeds.
Technically i guess there's no rules to stop players going out, but pretty irresponsible that they were out in a club in a week where covid cases have gone through the roof.

Unbelievable that one of their ex pro's is banging on about Kane. The Yids have kindly reminded him that Tanganga got worse last season...0 - Sponsored links:

Another boring game involving City. Went 4-0 up after 25 minutes and that was the half time score. Leicester pull it back to 4-3 within 20 minutes of the re-start. Now 5-3, And eight different scorers too which doesn't happen too often either.0

It's as if they've kept the same number of goals there should have been today, and spread them out amongst fewer games!1

How can Bernardo Silva play the whole game and NOT be involved in any of City's 6 goals FFS1
