  • Spurs fans told to turn back if heading to Leicester.  Looks like game is off tonight.
  • If they want to preserve the Boxing Day fixtures and not have a load of on the day postponements as there have been this week I think a break is a good idea.
Finish today’s games that are still on and then say the next games are in 10 days time on Boxing Day.

Or just a general decent advice about going to Leicester.

Fabulous idea.  Postpone Spurs v Bin Dippers on Sunday too.  I'm liking this.  Can we play all out postponed games until after the end of the January transfer window? :)
  • Another one gone. Man United v Brighton this weekend

A “circuit break” until Boxing Day is the idea mentioned by Brentford boss Thomas Frank which has apparently received backing from other premier league managers

this is a very good idea and will whet the fan's appetite for the real holiday games .. the downside is fixture congestion later in the season
  • Think the season will get paused before christmas.
  • 4 of Saturday's premier league games now postponed.  I think the rest will follow

  • SHELVEEEYYYY. I don’t like Newcastle but I hope they beat the bindippers.
  • Oh dear, can't make mistakes like that. 2-1 Liverpool
  • I'm sorry but Newcastle got what they deserved. Time after time defenders are going down once a ball is cleared holding their head in order to stop the second ball from coming in. Two Newcastle players were going to do it but, in the end, just the one did. And there was nil contact to his head. They are cheating the game and riding on the back of the directive that a game has to be stopped if there is a head injury

And they are now 2-1 down
  • Great goal and an assist for Shelvey.
  • Recall him having a game like this for Swansea against Liverpool, except that day he was responsible for all four goals in a 2-2
  • Pickford been excellent so far. This Everton team is one of the worst I’ve seen from them in years on paper.
  • Great moment for the Everton youngster, scoring his first senior goal at Stamford Bridge.
  • Does it strike anyone else as a bit weird that Mike Dean keeps getting given Liverpool games to referee? I know he’s a Tranmere fan, but still, seems a bit odd.
Not saying there’s anything dodgy, but if you’re from and live in the Wirral, I would’ve thought it was a bit too close by for true impartiality.

I guess at some point they have to just let them be professional etc, as long as it's not actually their own team.

Otherwise no Liverpool games, no Everton, maybe not Manchester clubs given the rivalry... that could be 50% of the league games in a weekend.

Decimated by injuries and Covid to be fair

Ellis Simms made his debut tonight, after a very good loan spell at Blackpool last season

  • Chelsea on the slide .. Everton on the up ?
  • Leeds dont have a single senior player on their bench for their game against Arsenal - Archie Gray has been named and is just 15-years old.
  • Will never understand the Biesla hype. Playing one way in every game doesn’t make you a good manager.
I do get what you are saying. Bielsa would rather stick to his values than try and play like Burnley for example. And I have total respect for Dyche when I say that. In this form and with their resources City would take apart a lot of teams.

There is the other factor and that is injuries and squad size. The ages of the players on the Leeds bench tonight were 19, 19, 19, 19, 20, 20, 20, 21 and 31 - with Klich being the only player with any proper Premier League experience. They have a small squad anyway and were missing Koch, Cooper, Strujik, Phillips, Rodrigo and Bamford. Let's also not forget that last season with those players available and playing the same way, Leeds took 4 points off City as well as drawing against the other three top Premier League sides.

I think that is why those Leeds fans were still there singing at the end. Because they know where they've come from and what the alternatives might be. A new manager who will play the percentages and try to eek out results whoever the opposition is. That's not Bielsa. Which is why they love him and as long as they don't go down they will still be happy.
Today's sub's bench are all under 21 and it includes Archie Gray who is just 15 - he is the son of Andy who played for us of course, Grandson of Frank and Grandnephew of Eddie

Cheers. I was wondering if he was part of the Gray dynasty.
  • Now I MUST have known Andy Gray was son of Frank Gray when he played for us, but I just can’t remember knowing it ……

Another of the youngsters on the bench is Lewis Bate (England U17, U18 and now U20) who was signed from Chelsea. He is the same age and was in the same school side at Beths as our Richard Chin and Euan Williams. Imagine playing as a midfielder (as Richard was before his recent conversion) for the opposition and coming across those three in a school game!
  • Could be another another battering for Leeds
  • Leeds just look a shell of themselves, admittedly with a huge injury list.
  • Leeds are going to be in a relegation battle if they keep playing like this.
  • Leeds might as well get Archie Gray on at this rate
