Not the result anyone here wanted, though our performance was much better at times than in the previous few matches. But when things went against us, even little things, we capitulated. Their equaliser came out of nowhere—only three minutes after Stockley’s opener gave us the lead—after Dobson abandoned his post in an attempt to secure a loose ball he had no hope of winning. Their second goal was similarly against the run of play, providing a gut punch from which we couldn’t recover.
We’ve conceded four goals in two games, all of which should have been avoided. Adkin’s wanted to build this season on clean sheets, but we don’t look anything solid enough to live up to that aspiration. We’re devoid of ideas and fragile, which is a bad combination. Without significant resources I can’t see where the spark we need will come from. And it’s frustrating to see good players floundering.

Is 20th in the third division the lowest we have ever been???3

We're in a world of trouble.3

Going to have a good laugh on the Macauley Bonne thread to cheer up after that4

Unacceptable , performance non existent. Passion only from the fans, if I had performed like that I would have been docked wages4

Somehow, we are worse than the team that finished last year.
TS has came in like a whirlwind and his comments have set expectations that he has not even come close to backing up. I couldn’t care less about Charlton TV or Wayne Mumford, I care about the team on that pitch. And that team finished the game playing a child at centre back, a shit right back at left back and were totally overran in midfield AGAIN.
They finished the game attacking us, did we even have a shot on target second half? Scrap that, how many shots on target have we had in 4 games this season.
Mid table team at best. 4 games in and nothing has changed.
Same old Charlton. This TS fairytale will take a 180 very very soon.
Totally dreadful to watch

Gonna be a long old season.4

Oh dear that was shite, need new blood asap2

In for the meltdowns2

Time to move on from Morgan. We need a real creative spark and experienced reinforcements across the board.Edit: Wont be listening to Adkins words. No positive spin on this start to a season.3

That was a total disgrace second half . We’re 8 players short minimum. Happy to not see any of that midfield bar DJ again8

That was thoroughly depressing. That team tried hard tonight, and was generally clueless. I don't see where an improvement is coming from.Strap in for another season of substandard league one football.I'm gutted that this is the level of Sandgaard's ambition. But never mind, because tomorrow morning I'll hear Nigel Adkins tell me the sun is shining and it's a beautiful day. Fucking hell.8

This team is a disgrace.
We needed a complete overhaul this transfer window and guitar boy has failed miserably.
It's going to be another painful season in league one I'm afraid.11 -
First eleven is very average, bench is honestly woeful. If TS doesn’t put his hand in his pocket in the next 2 weeks we’re in for a long old season7
-
For all the promise, hope & expectation in the summer, this squad is far worse than last season!!

Clean sheet wins seem a long way off14

I pray Adkins doesn't come on and say that was a good performance, we made a load of chances, we were unlucky etc3

Look brittle, disorganised and unfit.Midfield is powder puff.Said in the match thread; does Thomas have an element of Roland about him in that he thinks he knows how to beat the system?Sign some top quality players and several of them.Otherwise this genuinely will be bottom half.7

Let's be honest. Aside from the first 15 minutes, that was very poor.

We have just been beaten by a team who fielded Dean Lewington. I thought that he was either dead or running a pub.
And Jaiyesimi got nowhere with him.17 -
Not very good. So much weaker as a team and squad than last year. Let's hope there are some nice surprising signings otherwise it will be a struggle this season. Proper struggle.0

I honestly don’t think Adkins is the answer. I know there are other factors at play here but he’s not.4
-
Disappointed Clayden didn't come on for the last 2 minutes30

There'll be
1 TS has let us down.
2 The LB fan club, scenting blood, will make a resurgence.
3 Wait til the loans come in
4 Wait til the Jan window.
5 It's Ben Watson's fault.2 -
Looks like TS will be taking us out of League 1.Watson and Gunter - stealing a living.Morgan - not good enough
Need a Cullen type ball winner and a striker.I reckon the Nads love-in will be over by the end of Sept.
oh, and it’s crap footy to watch too.1 -

My God that was another awful second half performance, losing faith in our manager fast. The system is not working, he brings Watson on when we are 2-1 down. I’m sure he will come out with all the excuses but in all honesty he looks well out of his depth.4

Black kits look nice.
That's about all I have in my notes under "Second half positives."

Good result holding the Dons to 2-1 - keeps us outside the relegation zone.
We've scored in two consecutive games and remain unbeaten at home in the league.
We're a work in progress but I remain confident we will win a game at some point.32
