Kind of difficult to make a case for the continued risk to the emergency services being stretched when you see 30+ police (emergency services) walking bumper to bumper through a huge throng of pissed up party people along the streets of Soho, not a mask to be seen anywhere between both groups.

Went to four places in Peckham yesterday, all of them were busy but managed to maintain social distancing rules without making it feel too clinical. Really good experience, going for a roast in a couple of hours and then have a table at the brewery booked - hoping today is as good yesterday.0

It was not only the media saying that it would be worse than NYE 1999, it was the emergency services themselves. The organisation I work for is part of the emergency services and we were told they were planning for it to be like that night. It was not just the media, and the emergency services. The same people who complained and predicted a second wave when the first set of lockdown easing measures were introduced, complained about this set as well.

Had been in there a couple of times with Bromley Addicks but that was years ago.
Much smaller now but they've done it up nice.
One of the friendliest places.
When me and the wife first started goinag in there made us welcome, telling us when bands and singers were on knowing we were not regulars.
Most pubs you go would just take no notice of you or give you the stare.0 -
My village only one of the three pubs were open last night. Living out in the countryside we get quite a few drink drive idiots, we had our first fatal crash (since lockdown started easing) due to this last night a few villages over. One dead and five seriously injured in hospital.
Idiots are even bigger idiots when they are released to be idiots again.3 -

i didn't go as had a family bbq but pals went to borough market, the thameside inn gave them a table for 3 hours and was normal bar service.
the anglesea in woolwich was shut down due to nobody distancing - with everything though its do what you are comfortable with.
i will likely not to go any pubs where you have to have names taken down as im going to ireland end of the month and dont want to jeopardise that.0 -

you don’t generally go to knole park and get chatting and then joining the group next to you, this happens more in pubs. Or There is the risk that you see your old friend from school and go and have a chat!

Why was my comment, 'a totally stupid comment', did I, at any point, say that 'nothing happened' last night?
My point was specifically aimed at those who said it was a terrible idea to release further restrictions now, and that reopening pubs on a Saturday at 6am, would mean it was going to be as crazy outside as it if it was millennium eve. Which it clearly was not.
These same people said the same sort of thing when the first set of lockdown restrictions eased, and then when the shops reopened. Each time, for them it was the wrong time to do this, and it's going to be terrible and it's going to lead to a second wave.
I totally understand that there were busy pubs, and there was also trouble in certain places. But I don't see why it's a stupid comment to say that the same people who complained about the first sets of restrictions being released, and predicted a second wave of infections, also complained about these restrictions being eased and it being like 'millennium eve' outside. Which is a true statement, and neither outcomes happened - there was no second wave of infections, and it was not like millennium eve outside last night.

All pubs in Dartford are empty, although it is only 12 noon. Barbers also quiet, annoyingly, I shaved my head for a final time yesterday to let the crowds die down before the regrowing process begins0

Not many in the tigers head and bricklayers arms still closed.

Spent half a day at the Mossy Well Wetherspoons yesterday, then the other half at the Toll Gate Spoons. It was glorious - it was no different from normal.
We did visit a non-wetherspoons pub in-between which was properly enforcing the rules, but it was so boring and slow that we didn't stay for another one.0 -

Yeah, used to have a lovely butchers and bakery but they closed down about 4 years ago. They’ve recently redone the pavement outside and there’s now a pet spa. Chippy’s been open for a few years as well. Would love an Indian as well but the locals are a nightmare when it comes to planning applications.
