Yes there were signs on the floor, 1 meter apart, they also had an app that you could order from, much better than I expected TBFkillerandflash said:

Great to see a bit of life being breathed into that parade. Could have done with it 15 years ago!DaveMehmet said:
No worries, it looks really nice in there. There’s a cafe opening up a couple of doors along too, happy days.InspectorSands said:
Cor, had to look that up, that's tucked away. Will have to seek it out when things calm down - thanks!DaveMehmet said:

Yeah, used to have a lovely butchers and bakery but they closed down about 4 years ago. They’ve recently redone the pavement outside and there’s now a pet spa. Chippy’s been open for a few years as well. Would love an Indian as well but the locals are a nightmare when it comes to planning applications. Was really surprised the pub got given the go ahead, when the chippy opened there were loads of objections and they’ve had a lot of restrictions placed on them.AFKABartram said:

I’m a non chain independent freehouse & I got an app for ordering , also does click & collect takeaway orders that pop up through a little printer attached to a tablet ,a basic package including all menu programming & equipment was £899 so worth the minimal investmentkillerandflash said:How are the non chain pubs accepting orders, as I assume they won't have an App?5 -
Obviously the chains like having their own Apps, but for the drinker it would be more convenient to have a single "pub and restaurant" App rather than having to fill your phone with different Apps!Spitfire76 said:

Yeah and they all need to serve the same drinks and same food menu and at the same price.killerandflash said:

But seriously, people aren't going to fill their phones up with Apps for every separate pub chain they might visit in the next few months0 -

Bad terminology on my part , mines a web app so u point ur camera at a QR code & it takes u to the menu or from a button on our web page so it takes no storage on ur device & nothing to downloadkillerandflash said:

Mate, spoke with The bloke at the hanger who was looking to open up another place about a year ago, put him onto that location, but I guess he knew better.DaveMehmet said:Just popped down to the new micro pub that opened today for the first time (a five minute stroll, get in!)

Use the accountants along there, so will come in handy when discussing final accounts.
Around the local club tomorrow (off Burnt Oak Lane), a good days racing, and talk to some like minded alcoholics.
Cant wait.0 -
That butchers was very good and a shame it went. People need to embrace local facilities like this as the area was beginning to turn into a piss hole, which isn’t justified. What the locals need to remember is that passing trade keeps eyes and ears on their property.DaveMehmet said:

How's the B & W doing now? Not been for years despite it being my local (with the Oak).
Never seemed that friendly outside of Bromley Addicks meetings.
Is it CIU or just members?
Its members.
Started going in there last September having lived here for 7 years.
Had been in there a couple of times with Bromley Addicks but that was years ago.
Much smaller now but they've done it up nice.
One of the friendliest places.
When me and the wife first started goinag in there made us welcome, telling us when bands and singers were on knowing we were not regulars.
Most pubs you go would just take no notice of you or give you the stare.

Took the dog for a stroll round Beckenham rather than in the park. Everyone took bookings apart from the last boozer. stayed for 5 hours. It was pretty low key c19 rules in there. Love pubs0

Our cricket club took £1400 today. It was well managed with people generally keeping distance outside (nobody was allowed to sit inside). Wouldve been a bugger if it had rained though!4

On the plus side the whole pub is now fully ventilated and can regard itself as an outside venue.Spitfire76 said:Coronavirus: Car smashes into pub hours before reopening https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-kent-532905757 -

We went to our local for a few pints of Guinness. Early on it was fine but as the afternoon went on all the rules became blurred. Too crowded and lots of hugging as people met up.
Don’t think we’ll be back any time soon.0 -
Well yesterday was quieter than I thought considering a third of pubs were staying shut.
Whether a lot more came out late afternoon or in the evening I will find out later as I bailed out at 4PM after getting in the club at 11.30.
They are allowing 40 in and 40 outside as I left there was no more than 30 there.
I do know a few were staying away because they thought it was going to be busy.
Watching the news last night it's going to be interesting how the pubs ,restaurants get on.
They was in a pub in Newcastle at 10pm and the pub normally holds 150 people and there was no more than 40 in there.
Reports from some pubs that were taking bookings that people were cancelling at the last moment or just didn't bother turning up.
One thing I do find myself doing is saying if I can't do this or they've got that in place I won't be going there.
So in a way I'm blaming some businesses for having to put these restrictions in place.0 -
Drive through bexleyheath last night about 11.30 the only one that looked like it was taking it seriously was the spoons0
-
Went to my local, The Waterloo in Gravesend, about 5pm yesterday, Sanitise on entry, one way system, beer garden busy but got a table inside, all very well run and adhered too0
