(Bob Champion's successful fight against cancer and then going on to win the Grand National on Aldaniti. 1984 film starring John Hurt). On a not altogether different theme - 'Secretariat' was a cracking film as well.Helps if you like horse racing of course.0 -

not a film and mentioned above, but last week watched "The class of 92; Full Time" back to back. Really interesting on so many levels (I started to like Neville, never thought I'd say that), Scholes (when he's on) deadpan responses are brilliant, the original management structure is weird (can't work out if they are brilliant or chancers), and there is a nice feel about the club in regards to how they respect the volunteers that were there long before the millions came in.0

The motor sports doc Uppity on Netflix is very, very good. The climactic qualifying scene - well, let’s just say a fly got into my eye, which was making it water.0

The Harder They Fall, said to be one of the best boxing films ever made (100% rotten tomatoes). It was Humphrey Bogart’s final film. Jersey Joe Walcott also appeared.

When Street Hockey was all the rage in early 90's (On proper roller skates, not them inline toot), there was a film that done the rounds on VHS about Ice Hockey called Youngblood. Remember that being a good film and all our mates loved it1

Let it Ride -Richard Dreyfus has a lucky day at the races.

The Damned United was a great film. What interested me was it was much more sympathetic to the great man that was Brian Clough than the book was. His family was anti the film because of the book, but Clough is the hero of that film and the performance of Sheen is mesmeric. He is Brian Clough.0
