  • I like all of them except one, my wife none of them except one.
Lucky for me, 5 Star has adverts so we will probably have to record that one.
I’ll let it drop down the planner and delete it with the rest of dross in a weeks time.
I didn’t expect my wife to put the 7:00 pm option on.

I can’t see them showing that for one minute! Having said that it’s still on the Sky planner .
  • 3.10 to Yuma is a goodie

Just downloaded and watched the first 20 mins of 10 Minutes Gone on Sky Movies. Bruce Willis is the lead. Astonishingly poor acting, writing, plot development. It is as if the pitch was to deliberately make a really really bad film that will be debated for decades to come. It is so laughably bad I may have to watch another 20 mins!

Bruce did another appalling film, the one where he plays a doctor who invents an immortality serum.  I think it's Meryl Streep and Goldie Hawn as the two women in his life.  Truly one of the worst films I've ever seen.
  • That's "Death Becomes Her."

Bruce Willis and Nic Cage have a constant battle as to who can make the worst film . They are pretty much neck & neck .

I'll raise you with the offering on BBC2 this evening.

    Mindhorn.

Jesus it was bad. Sat through 10 mins before turning over. Worst kind of "comedy" if you ask me.

No brainer of what then to watch. Started 5 mins later on C4.

    Parkland.

About the hospital & events in Dallas on that fateful day in November 1963. Not the best film in the world but my God, 100 times better than the rubbish on BBC2 just before it.

The only issue was how quickly they developed the vaccination/cure (can't remember which), something that would normally take quite some time as we are seeing with our problem.  Other than that, very good indeed.

I think the film to avoid is on the wrong channel. At that time of night shouldn't it be on the Adult Channel   ??
  • The Goonies ... yehhhhh
  • Prometheus got a lot of stick but I really enjoyed it. Thought the acting was first class for a film that relied on monsters and special effects. Thought the plot was imaginative. Moon I struggled with - have a suspicion that I'm a monsters type of sci fi guy rather than something thought provoking...
  • You can't beat a good monster. Mind you, clever sci-fi can work well without monsters. Silent Running being a great example.

you're right, that was a great film with robots that you felt some emotional connection with

  • Agree about Midnight Express, excellent
  • Ransom looks good,we'll watch that. watched Identity last night. My wife and I are fussy - we ditch about 9 out of 10 films in the first 10 minutes. Identity was good though. A whodunnit with a real, real twist.
  • I watched the Maradona film last night. Excellent. Actually (almost) felt sorry for the bloke towards the end.

Started watching it tonight. Got to about 30 minutes before we gave up  The characters were not engaging, including Idris Elba, and we found it tedious.

Never seen double indemnity. As for Laurence of Arabia - it looks great but it’s twice as long as it should be .
