Their overall performance is much more likely to earn praise than slotting in a penalty. Don't underestimate the impact of goals and being on the scoresheet. It gets you recognised and can be the difference between being on the bench or not.0

I would much prefer someone like Davison has a decent all round game to doing nothing and slotting in a penalty. When Chuks is banging them in like this it makes me wonder why Lee is so adamant that he sees him as a midfield player rather than a striker. Surely worth a chance up top if we have further injury problems?1

I know its the unspoken word but in the (hopefully unlikely) event we went back to league 1, I can see Chuks being a regular starter at that level - as the number 10 just off someone like Bonne.1

Vennings sounds like a very decent penalty taker.
