Do we know if Aneke was subbed early?
No ..... he had 45 minutes last game, I expect he was brought off after about an hour.

Bows said something about gradually increasing his game time and intensity.

Pogba involved perhaps as one of the trialists?

U23S | @jasoneuell's young Addicks are in action against @BristolCity this afternoon.

Starting XI | Amos, Yao, Stevenson, Powell, Trialist, Dempsey, Vennings, Wiredu, Odoh, Davison, Aneke.

Subs | Osaghae, Keefe, Clayden, Trialist, Ghansdour, Quitirna #cafc
Great win although perhaps not that surprising given more than half that team has recent first team experience

Be good to have seen the forwards take the penalty to make a statement for the 1st team.

Their overall performance is much more likely to earn praise than slotting in a penalty. Even if someone slots in 4 penalties in 90 minutes that is no statement for the 1st team, it just means they can take penalties.

Don't underestimate the impact of goals and being on the scoresheet. It gets you recognised and can be the difference between being on the bench or not.

I would much prefer someone like Davison has a decent all round game to doing nothing and slotting in a penalty. Not sure about being recognised, Euell is no idiot and his feedback to Bows is going to be reliable.

    Two trialists listed.

Assume these are the kid from Tooting and the kid from Met Police

Surprised Smith isn't getting some minutes, unless he isn't allowed?

Would be strange if so as we named him when we played against Bristol City last week

Davison and Aneke is quite a physical front 2!

If Aneke is being used up front in these games then presumably that's where he'd be used for the first team. Doesn't make a whole lot of sense otherwise.

GOAL!! Lovely link-up play down the left involving and results in Sam Dalby tapping in from close range.

    Super Chuks 1-1

    Goal!

Former Arsenal forward @Chuks_Aneke rattles in a cracking equaliser for @CAFCofficial here in this U23 game. Nothing @adamparkes_ could do about that.

Is that 4 in 3 for Chucks?

When Chuks is banging them in like this it makes me wonder why Lee is so adamant that he sees him as a midfield player rather than a striker. Surely worth a chance up top if we have further injury problems?

5 in 3 games for him now

Hat trick against Swansea and then a goal last week against Bristol City

Especially given he started out as a striker for Arsenal didn't he?

Could be wrong... but Watford obviously feel the same.

If only there was somewhere fans could ask Chuks direct questions about his recent form this week.
it would need to be a social environment, maybe somewhere the fans could also get a drink?

Wow. He is hot and presumably getting fitter.

    That would be ideal.

Upstairs of a pub or club would be ideal, maybe somewhere close to where many Charlton fans live.

I know its the unspoken word but in the (hopefully unlikely) event we went back to league 1, I can see Chuks being a regular starter at that level - as the number 10 just off someone like Bonne.

Sounds like a lively game doesn't it. I think it's probably the ideal place for Albie at the moment.
