Funny how after feeling so optimistic on the weekend with the news of LB new contract and players coming in to pessimism now. Taylor may be going, Gallagher gone, Maddison may not join us, the Blackpool striker not coming and with two weeks to go, nothing seems to be happening. MS says he is continuing with offers pending, so perhaps I will just hope for two more weeks. More players coming back from injuries, no more serious injuries, LB signs contract and Taylor stays, so cross everything, and just hope we may just be getting some success before the end of the season
  • Without stating the obvious & regardless of us putting our trust in MS & co, we face our final 2 matches of the January window within 4 days, with the prospect of being dragged kicking & screaming into the dreaded relegation zone.

Neither will be a piece of cake.

But it goes without saying that we must get something from either or both before the 6 pointer against Barnsley with the sound of a slamming shut aperture ringing in our ears.

This worrying picture of our current situation will not be one to attract signatures on the dotted line from sought after targets. It will be down to  our Matt to "sell" the future/ambition of our club as ESI envisage it and for Bow to do what he does best.....tell it like it is or maybe how it can be again.

    Nothing new here, guys.

There's little we can do to help except, as always, make some serious noise from the Stands.

And keep everything crossed for a happy ending come February as our season "starts" once again on a very positive note.

    Keep the faith.

Some people are so very odd
How can Twitter allow a fake account to be set up with exactly the same details? Farcical.

I'm not sure what you expect twitter to do

Yep it's the old "1 looks like an l in certain fonts" trick. If you you report blatant impersonation accounts twitter sometimes bans them though.
  • Will Grigg going Swindon.

I feel like I may be going crazy here, but is it weird that I feel like I'd have him here at the moment? I know he may not have the best championship record but he can get goals.

    Odd move going Swindon imo

To borrow a theme from @oohaahmortimer - 5 % fish puns,  10 % "mate's mate's sister's ex boyfriend delivers the mail to Spurs training ground and says...", 15 % made up tweets, 1 % ITK, 4 % 3 year old you tube clips set to euro house music, 5 % people moaning about no rumours, 59.9 % bullshit, 0.1 % fact.

Think you might be exaggerating slightly there Exiled.
Not convinced it's as much as 0.1% fact.

My theory is this, I have no influence on Taylor staying or Maddison arriving like I had no say in Conor’s loan deal. So therefore to worry myself into a stupor would be ridiculous, I have lots of things under my control that can influence so I’ll concentrate on them.
Do I care? Yes of course I do.
Does it matter? Yes, of course it does.
I’ll sit back and wait a couple of weeks before I have an opinion on if the transfer windows been a success. like I’ll wait until the end of the season until to see if it’s been a success or not. Footballs an entertainment, enjoy it let the people paid lots of money do the worrying. 😉

    Odd move going Swindon imo

In the 4th division, after he was a massive flop in the 3rd last season, to stay in the 2nd?

I didn't suggest him but vs Davison with 1 senior goal to his name?.....

Who is about 10 years younger, and 4th choice?

Right now he is 1st choice
So I see why people (not me) may mention him!

He isn't "1st choice" he is currently the only choice.  If you want to splash cash on Doyle, you might as well spend it on someone that has a good goal record in the Dutch second divison and is ten years younger. I don't know, maybe Polish Pete?

I didn't suggest him but he's a better bet (probably) than Davison to keep us up.

    However I don't want him.

Co incidentally....... who would YOU choose.....

If we end the window with Green, Taylor, Bonne, Hamed and Davidson I would be OK, I would love one better than 3 of them though.

A shocking fall from grace for Grigg really, considering his previous goalscoring record in L1, and that he's only 28. If it down to injuries or a loss of confidence?

Or playing for good attacking teams, in a not that good division, until he got found out?

I always thought it was strange that Josh got picked for NI before him, I knew Josh was "limited" but it now looks like NI were right.

Or even a year at Sunderland?

It's a funny thing  ...... often a player's face fits at a particular club and everything clicks in place for him.

Example off the top of my head: Simon Francis - scapegoat at Charlton, captain of a Premiership club at Bournemouth.
Or even Yann Kermorgant ....... anti-hero at Leicester, legend here at Charlton.

And to think everyone was losing their shit on here a year ago because Sunderland were able to spend 4 million on him while we could only sign Josh Parker. Despite being bang average, if that, Parker was probably better for us than Grigg was for them.

With Gallagher going , I can’t see how we can possibly allow Taylor to go

More from Alan Nixon from the sun, looking through the comments of other fans everyone is in the same boat moaning about not signing players and saying they can see themselves going down without a fight etc.

it’s been a very quiet window so far hopefully we pull a player or two out of the bag today 🤞🏻.
  • Which player is he referring to about a deal being difficult geographically?

    Maddison would be my guess.
