Takes a lot for Joe Flacco to criticise his team. I don't think I've ever seen him do it actually. What's going on in Denver?

It's a shit show. We are letting go of top WRs with undrafted replacements / mid round picks, and an O line that can only block for the run game with A QB who can't work outside of the pocket. Season has been written off 4 weeks ago and it's now just a crap excuse for an offense. If Flacco is not getting any say in play calling then he's a bit less to blame, but I think he knows it's all a dud for the next couple of years. We've got injuries and we've got a bang average QB with limited options who takes an age to get to second read. Our first round pick Fant is edging closer to bust territory (or conversion to WR as he can't block) and all the players look like they've given up. And the fact that Flacco autocorrects to flacid says it all.

    Ouch. On his birthday.

Jets rumoured to be shopping Jamal Adams.

Talib traded from the Rams to the Dolphins.

He's been screwed over this year. At 32, he should be somewhat in or near his prime, and has had the worst pass protection in football in front of him. The only thing saving him from more sacks is a 2.4 second release time.

Added to that, AJ Green is out; there's basically no run game; and he's had more dropped balls than missed throws. Don't get me wrong, he literally threw it away vs the Jags, and there have been a few other instances, but it's nowhere near all on him.

That said, it's the right move. You're clearly moving on and rebuilding, because by the time the Bengals are (theoretically) good again, Dalton is 35 or so, and there's a very limited window. So you throw in Finley, and if he somehow shows enough to be the guy, you have a very high first-rounder to trade away for all sorts of draft capital. And if he doesn't, then you're armed with the pick for Tua/Burrow/Herbert/Fromm or whoever else you might think would be your guy.

Jamal Adams to the Cowboys is close apparently. What a stupid, stupid move by the Jets

Turns out he didn't even want to leave and was being shopped behind his back. That's rough. What were the team thinking?!

See Dalton moaning the decision to bench him 3 hours before trade deadline meant he didn’t have time to get a move somewhere else.

    What a guy eh.

Also he is the only QB to start a season both 8-0 and 0-8

He's not been great, but he's also absolutely right. The organisation has screwed him over here. No pass protection, some bad injury luck, no run game of note to take off the load - and he was benched on his birthday!!

Dalton is surrounded by shite not surprising when the Bengals only have 8 people in their scouting department, the Browns have 33 just to give it context. Although #14 isn’t the best ever he can play, if you look at his stats over his first 5/6 seasons he was in the same brackets as some of the greats (numbers wise). The front office have drafted pretty average players with horrific injury records and let players like Whitworth go. Feel a bit sorry for him and in my eyes it was shitty of them not to let him have a chance of being traded. The 2020’s is going to be a long decade!!

Still think poor form that reaction to getting benched is to moan you can't quit the team.

I get that, and if we were talking about proper football, I'd probably lean toward your take more.

But with the NFL, players have a far more limited shelf life, and are only one instance away from a career-ending injury. There are also only sixteen games a season, and there are performance-related guarantees built into contracts and playing actual minutes that have big financial implications.

And given the fact players can be forced to stay through things like franchise tagging (think about the word "franchise" there, too), trades are entirely on the teams and there are no fully guaranteed contracts etc, I get where Dalton is coming from far more.

Sport is slightly more transparently a business in America and given the power teams have, Dalton is well within his rights to moan, especially as he's given the Bengals some great moments.

Cousins radar has been well off today. Fortunately we’re still within touching distance of the Chiefs

KC will never be handed a win more than they have today. Not even Kirk’s fault either. All on the atrocious secondary and awful special teams. Utter joke.

So glad we screwed the Jets and Gase. Quite annoyed we've lost the first pick!
  • Ravens 17-0 with ease so far. What ya got Billy boy?
  • Spoke too soon, always on special teams.
