    Thomas Dolby - One Of Our Submarines
    Engaging, intelligent synth-pop from a chap who made splendid music in the early 1980s.
    The inspiration for the song was Dolby's late uncle, who died as a submarine crewman during World War II.

    No, hadn't realised she was doing solo stuff ... always loved her stuff in the past so will have to check out her latest work

    I caught OMD live in Barcelona last night. Pretty much the usual run of hits across the decades - they have a long list. But wonderfully for the likes of me who grew up with them when they were more experimental back at the start of the eighties, we were rewarded with Statues and Almost from the early days. It literally blew me away. It Will also make my family happy, as since I saw the Offspring back in august, they have had me playing Offspring/Nirvana/red Hot Chilli Peppers over and over, and they might get some different music coming from the bathroom for a bit.

    Im doing Guildford and Hammersmith ( VIP Tickets ) next month for the 40th anniversary tour , im a big fan and they do put on a great gig .

    I envy you the VIP stuff. The guy behind me was at the gig earlier for the soundcheck before and met the band. Didn't entirely get the gist of how he got the tickets but that would have been a blast.Great to see them still playing Electricity to close the night!
