So this is where Fundation's "Blackheath Prats" (Blackheath prats drive around in Citroens, Blackheath prats have a bidet in the bathroom) comes from. First time I've heard the original.Lincsaddick said:0 -

Has anyone mentioned Blues Rock guitarist Walter Trout yet? He is simply brilliant.1

seen him twice .. he is great guitarist .. BUT an innovator ? .. there again when I wrote influential, that could mean 'influencing' how people play the geetar rather than bringing a whole new style or technique to the genre ..if yer no wot I meenflyingkiwiDK said:Has anyone mentioned Blues Rock guitarist Walter Trout yet? Neil Young makes it, but Stephen Stills doesn't?
Yeh, 43 seems a weird number - maybe he listed them all off the top of his head and got bored at 43

As much as I worship the ground Keith Richards walks on, and he is a good guitarist, he just isn't the fifth best guitarist of all time.Meaningless twaddle.

This one is perhaps less contentious, although you'll never get agreement.

Nice to see England Captain Booby Moore make the top one hundred on that list.

My list of influential guitarists would be:
Charlie Christian - developed the guitar pickup
Les Paul - developed the solid body electric guitar which bears his name
Hank Marvin - influenced countless school boys and girls to pick up the guitar
Jimi Hendrix - revolutionised playing - wrong note, fuck off I'm playing like Hendrix
Slash - influenced a newer generation of school boys and girls to pick up the guitar.

Greenie (the guitarist) is a terrible omission. I'd also add Steve Vai.Six-a-bag-of-nuts said:

Good shout too for Albert Lee whoever mentioned him earlier.
I also thought @Padd@PaddyP17 would have given Lee Ritenour a shout.
And what about Gary Moore, Joe Bonamassa and Joe Satriani?0 -

SRV and Lonnie Mack a blues/rock duet made in heaven - now sadly residing there.
Love this video, old fashioned, organic, plug and play, brilliant, tone to die for.
