there has been a good 6 episode series on BBC4 that finished yesterday (should be on catch up) called 'The Defiant Ones' all about the careers of Jimmy Iovine and Dr Dre. I've seen two episodes so far and its worth a watch for the slick direction and the interviews from Artists that worked with them over the years. love the back handed compliments that Iovine gets from people like Tom Petty and Bruce Springsteen.

the actual documentary goes bit downhill after episode 3. the self obsession these guys have gets a bit too much to stomach. still, they made some decent music over the years.
not a fan myself but I did read a good book recently by Donald Fagan, 'Eminent Hipsters'. worth a look if you haven't already.
thanks for the recommendation .. read this over the weekend .. he's a brilliant raconteur .. pity really that the book is so short .. short & sweet ((:>)

I always thought it was, "SOS, you hear these words", but it's "And so, as you hear these words".

all excellent tracks but 'Hurt' is a real standout
