If there is a rule in place then of course it should be policed, with deterrent penalties for infringement. Nobody in racing has a problem with that.

dublin racing festival confirmed for 1st & 2nd feb 2020 will likely go over for this as been a qaulity card for last 2 years.1

If trainers aren't careful they might just find that Arc will do the same as they did to Folkestone - close those courses too!

I reckon that they should shave 25% off the value of all Group and Listed races and re-distribute it across the rest of racing. That would really rattle the trainers who are protesting and bullying the most and make a difference to the rest of racing.PaddyP17 said:

Maximum of two runners per owner in every Group and Listed race and a maximum of four entries - or they are all coupled for betting purposes!If it forces the likes of O'Learly (spit) or Ricci out then sobeit - the best horses will still run.

Oh, I should have clarified that I'm with the trainers on the boycott, but I think the way Danny Brock and the like are being treated is pretty horrendous. I hope he has a massive day - he has kids to feed and he's got a great opportunity to grab some money.Addick Addict said:

I saw Olly Murphy (who I do quite like incidentally) claiming those running horses today were being greedy - but no. A fair amount of these stables are having crap years and need the extra revenue, even if it's a few thousand for a race at Lingfield.
In an ideal world, of course, every stable would be financially able to boycott, but that just isn't the case.1 -
BetBright sold their trading platform to 888 for £15m. Because of that they maintained that they had to close their sportsbook (which they didn't sell) by settling all ante post bets as N/Rs (apart from parts of those bets that were already winners).
Rich Ricci has now come out and said that, as a "goodwill gesture", they will now honour those bets.
Three things have come out of this:
(1) All bookmakers should be made to prove that they have the funds to honour all bets within any specific book and those funds should be ring fenced - if an individual lays a horse or horses on Betfair they cannot have a liability on any market without having already deposited adequate funds. Bookmakers should be no different and if they don't have sufficient funds then they should be offloading that liability on to a bookie that does.
Edit - they are not honouring all ante post bets - it's only Cheltenham ones and the rest they are voiding.
(2) The so called Gambling Commission has, as usual, gone into hiding over this issue.
(3) "Rich" Ricci is "Rich" Ricci for a reason.

Ricci's arguments are laughable especially with regards to non Cheltenham bets:
"I'm sorry for people who thought they were on a winner and the price had shortened...........At least with this timing it gives people the opportunity to do something else with their money".
So, you've backed Luton for £100 @ 20/1 to win League 1. You now get your stake back and can back them @ 1/3!
Ricci wouldn't have lasted long in the City doing that but then they were/are regulated by the FSA/FCA and they would have done something about it. Unlike the Gambling Commission.2 -
