Scouting a match is 100% different.

A team will play different depending on who they are playing, you scout a match but for all you know the next game the formation will change there will be an injury in training.

But training the day before a game will be specific to that game, things u want to keep underwraps.

As Lampard said they had an injury and the spy would have seen that player sitting out the training session

The Leeds keepee did not need to have his foot so high there, if ref had seen it it would have been a red

@paulie8290 I personally think you’re going a little bit overboard on this.

Bielsa is a genius in management, and even with him freely admitting he has done it to every club they’ve played this season, they still have to work on their game themselves. They still have played unbelievably and won the games to be top of the league.

The ‘spy’ has been on public land, I mean I could do the same to Charlton and many other teams if I worked for another club. You would be surprised the amount of stuff that happens.

Maybe, maybe I am being slightly bias due to my liking of Leeds United, which I’ve said many times before, and I know I’m in a minority. But is this really such a big story?

Clubs do extensive scouting on other clubs prior to playing them. A lot of what is posted online, this forum is a great example, have some very knowledgeable people about how clubs play, what they do and how they prepare. There are many ways of gathering information. In another way of looking at it, it’s the exact same thing as what a journalist will do when they’re looking for information on a story they’re running, it’s their job and that’s not illegal.

I might come across a bit off, and I apologise if I do, but I think if it was another club who had been this smart, the story wouldn’t have been made as big, if at all. Because many people have a dislike to Leeds United, I feel it’s been made bigger, not to mention that Lampard is Derby’s manager.

Overall, I feel it’s naive to think and believe that loads of things don’t go on to gain an advantage on the other team. It’s a clever approach from Bielsa, and yes it’s sneaky, but that doesn’t take away the good work that Bielsa himself and his players have done so far this season to be in the position they are in.

Robinson is far less devious- he even informs the opposition, via his pre match interview, exactly how his team is going to be set up. Somewhat ruins the surprise of playing just one up top

I seem to recall that official spying on the opposition is called scouting. It happens regularly. The spying type almost certainly happens regulalrly as well, albeit the Leeds s(cout)py was probably a bit obvious sitting on a bucket in the bushes and ony speaking Spanish. The only difference here is that the media darling took offence that it was happening and created a storm on a bucket.

Quite - I really can’t see, provided the bloke was on public land, how it’s any different to a team scouting their opposition by watching them play a match. Seems a bit of a fuss over nothing.

“Spy” is pretty dramatic wording.

If you are doing something that is visible from public land why would you be surprised when the public have visibility of it?

I was just saying u cant compare a training session a day before a game to scouting a match a week before.

Also if training has to be stopped whilst police come because someone is in a bush then its not right and is spying

What laws were broken? None

What rules were broken? None



I'd absolutely consider it a form of scouting and it's 100% happened before. Any scout who is not formally announed is a form of spying, there's nothing wrong with it.

I'd be dissapointed if Charlton have never had a peak at our oppos training.
