  • So much for Accrington being a side who'll be in a relegation scrap this year

EVERY side is going to think they're cannon fodder yet they'll continue to surprise everyone till teams decide to wake up

They wont threaten at the top, will look over their shoulder a few times yet due to John Coleman being an utter legend will be fine this season

Must be anyone but him to blame ..

Ref, other team , fans , injuries .

Wasn’t he blaming it on the World Cup?

I save reading this thread until last. All the usual ones about the decline of our once great club are so depressing to read so it's good to lighten the mood with tales of our Karl.

Remind me, didn't the Oxford chairman annouce Robbo as a 'marquee signing'? What exactly do they mean by the word marquee in Oxfordshire - is it a size reference?

There's some post match quotes from Karl towards the end of this article: http://www.oxfordmail.co.uk/sport/16590180.oxford-united-defeat-tough-to-take-says-john-mousinho/

Oddly, there doesn't seem to be a full post match press conference report yet. As it's only 12 hours since the game finished, I presume he hasn't yet finished talking through his excuses with the local journos.....

"I'm not gonna criticise the players, but some of them aren't performing at the level we need. You can't fault their attitude but some of them just aren't fit to wear the shirt. I'm not the sort of manager that's gonna come in here and moan about the referee, but he did get all the key decisions wrong. Everyone knows what a strong side Accrington are - they've got Premier League players and will win the Champions League sooner rather than later. Erm, did I mention I used to manage Dele Alli. I've just bought my wife a Dacia Sandero. We're thinking of redecorating the front room as well....."

    It shows their big intent
Priceless. Witty reply of the week so far.
  • This surely has to be his last job as a manager? I feel sorry for the Oxford fans...

he confused 'marquee' with (cheeky scouse) 'monkey'

They’ve conceded 13 goals already, an average of 3.25 goals conceded per game. Rochdale have the next worst defensive record, conceding 11.

Following that, the third worst record is Bristol Rovers having conceded seven. Almost half that of Oxford.
  • Its frustrating, the season is so early on that Karl only needs one win to get out of the relegation zone!!

Everyone move on cos James seed (the grandson of Jimmy seed if you didn’t know that) said so.

Actually I think i’ll Enjoy Robinson’s failures a little longer
Look Junior, I’m as entitled to express an opinion as much as the next man, even if I’m really a demi-god.

    Only 4 points behind us!

I like to think that other than Accrington we've faced much harder opposition ;)

Actually, I can’t believe he’s still persisting with a formation when it isn’t working, just as he did with us.
    Fair point.

And that Fair point is one more point than Gobbinson has...;)
  • Quite bleak that, as a Charlton fan, Karl Robinson's demise is the only thing I can vaguely get excited by... :-(

You really can't believe it? I can. He is totally inflexible when it comes to system and it will be the downfall of his football management career.
