What do people think of Motorhead's cover of David Bowie's Heroes? I've been a massive Bowie fan for over 40 years and I love it. Lemmy certainly puts his own mark on it, even changes a lot of the lyrics!

not exactly classic but Mark Kozelek's cover of Onward by Yes really brings hone what a good song it is hidden in the sometimes overlooked Yes later catalogue

I thought this thread had been revived to mention Aretha Franklin covering respect. Originally by Otis Redding1

For me, Chris Cornell’s version surpasses both Prince and Sinead O’Connor.

This is for me the best cover version I have heard for some time. For some reason the song starts at 01:15:
Hot Chip: Dancing In The Dark, finishing with a bit of LCD Soundsystem!0 -
Disturbed version of the Simon & Garfunkel classic The Sound of Silence is absolutely awesome and dare I say it, IMHO, it’s even better.
David Draiman has the finest rock singers voice I have ever heard.......and I’ve heard many in my time. So powerful, so huge a sound yet so beautifully controlled.
Sublime.
Can someone put up a link please......I don’t know how to do it.0 -

Rod Stewart’s version wasn’t the original.heckington_reds said:Stereo phonics version of hand bags and gladrags far outweighs rod Stewarts version so my baggies supporting Mrs says.
Mike d’Abo wrote it and Chris Farlowe released it first.2 -
But Rod's was by far the best.DaveMehmet said:
