Agree. I don't think he's got the appetite for that level of involvement any more.cafc-west said:
He is 68. Has had cancer. Is Chairman of a prestigious company. I would guess he wants a non-exec role that keeps his seat at the table and access to the perks that go with that - cannot see him leading the club or a rival consortium - but who knows...NapaAddick said:
I would NOT AT ALL be surprised is his holdup is he is demanding a formal role with the club under new ownership and he is pouting and holding it up as a strategy to get that.DessieValley said:IF it is Murray holding up the takeover then what on earth is wrong with that man?

The suggestion was they are getting a lot of pressure from Charlton fans - though this could mean CAFC and the Aussies as well.cafcwill said:
I'm confused is this just in regards to the CAFC takeover or other takeovers in generalAddickted said:
No - tight as a drum this time.cafcwill said:
Has your EFL contact let you know about new info?Addickted said:So a new approach to our owner?
Please note, despite all this Aussie noise, my Avatar hasn't changed for several months.
Seems quite a few people are interested in the Aussie paperwork, it would appear that both personal and electronic approaches have/are being made from several quarters and the EFL are getting twitchy, particularly after the Sunderland info was released before the official statement.
Also the several quarters, is this just from the Aussie consortium?
It also sounds as though someone has tried to hack their systems.
You may need to change to a Russian flag then!2 -
of course its true, its you thats holding it all up your not revealing things quick enoughJamesSeed said:
A few people have said that but it’s genuinely not true.bertpalmer said:
Of course he wants you to tell everyone what was said, every word, thats part of the plan so come on,what was said and all previous if you please.JamesSeed said:
Bit of a dilemma, because he’s not happy to have every word shared, which is why the messages were drying up. So what I posted wasn’t cryptic, it was the gist of it.golfaddick said:
Not wanting to sound harsh as you kindly helped me with pub for Saturday's game, but I don't think that post is helpful. If GM had told you something then either share it all or keep it to yourself......cryptic messages are what is killing us & keeping us going round in circles.JamesSeed said:
I did get a message late last night which implied the next few days may well be critical for the Aussies’ bid.Covered_End_Lad said:Any chance @JamesSeed can pester GM, this is getting silly now.
Happy to not post if it’s doin’ yer ‘ead in, as we used to say back in the day.2 -
Sod protesting if we become Russian owned and everything goes tits up, they don't mess about with retribution.Chrispy51 said:Addickted said:

We’re being bought by the Russians, then !!!3 -
I meant the takeover is still on, so it sounds like any issues causing a delay aren’t related to the EFL side of it then?Addickted said:
Not as far as he's aware. He confirmed two weeks ago that the two issues had been resolved and as far as the information he had, there were no issues regarding CAFC and the fit and proper persons test.Scoham said:
So it's still ongoing then?Addickted said:

He is getting this information second hand from the compliance team.1 -
I think the white cat is a Millwall supporterFerryman said:
I was working near The Valley today so popped in for nose around. The most eventful thing I saw was a white cat having a crap in the car park, which probably sums things up.JamesSeed said:This group has probably been around for some time, but might have been freshened up with a new backer. I agree that that could well be why the Aussies haven't completed- because Duchatelet is hoping for a higher bid. Absolute disgrace if true, and whoever is behind it should hang their head in shame.
There were no posh motors in the car park, so no one of note is in and we don't have a SMT anyway.
An unsubstantiated rumour from a member of staff; A fan came in and told them that everything is sorted but just waiting for Roland to sign off to complete the takeover.
I thought nothing of that until reading on here that there are new interested parties. So is Roland not signing off in case the new bids are better!0 -
I have heard that one of the Arab consortium has links with another club and had to drop out, leaving them short of funds.7

These Aussies seem to imply a lot but at the end of the day, fail to deliver. This is obviously only going one way.

If the Aussies pull out, will they return their scarfs and ask for their money back?8

Wait? Has it actually happened?0

The only thing I’m fairly certain about is that it’s 50:50 they buy the club.Dazzler21 said:

Im abit confused. So as soon as the takeover is nearly over the line with Aussies, a new mystery party is interested at the last minute which will derail the Aussies bid if they bid more. Thats just our luck aint it. Is this right or just rumours?1
