Apart from not being as successful a manager for Charlton as we all hoped has he said or done something I have missed to warrant this level vitriol?

As has been said, this is where we put the run together and not expect others to do us favours. No new manager bounce for Robbo here !!!

Guys - as much as we should/could laugh at our dearly departed (not dead) Robbo, we need Oxford to win this one!

Why as stated above as it stands we are level with pompy with a game in hand and to play them still.

Its in our hands we dont need to worry about others results we need to concentrate on ours
Helps if other teams around us don't pick up points don't you think?

What's the betting Oxford manage to stay up by a couple of points and it turns out that late lead Robbo presided over us throwing away keeps them up?

3-0 Pitman, from a decent Right wing Lowe run. Maybe a player to watch out for. Result flatters Portsmouth big time.

Yes, take away the 4 points we gave them and they would be a point for the relegation zone!

Exactly. Would take some pressure off us. This 'it's in our own hands' talk normally followed by a few ifs and buts.

Feel bloody sorry for Oxford having Robinson in charge! Fans will soon be shouting play 442 and stop talking bollocks like we did!

Turds falling out of the wrong end of Robinson.
  • Need them to score this pen.

Time to stop worrying about other teams' results.

There are enough games left for qualification for the play-offs to be in our own hands. And we play Portsmouth shortly. Win that and that will open up a little gap between us.
So just hope Portsmouth don't nick a play-off place above us on goal difference.
    Take your point. But .....

The next 2 games - Northampton (who haven't won for at least 5 games) and Rotherham (3 defeats in last 5 games) will surely show whether Saturday was a flash in the pan or a genuine improvement in form. If its the latter, we should win both and will be well set for the top 6.

Lose either of them and we will be crawling into the play-offs at best. The form team - even if it finishes 5th or 6th - often goes on to win the play-offs and I just see a couple of deeply disappointing days ahead if we only qualify through other teams blowing up.

We should just be happy Robinson has gone and we at least look like a team again. Playoffs would be a bonus.

Robinson blaming referee. Referee telling Oxford players that Thompson was booked in the 2nd half. He has a point as Thompson should have been booked & sent off. Oxford play well going forward but are poor defensively. Not a good start for Robinson.

Christ on a bike I've just had to play Tarbuck's post match interview back at 33rpm to understand what he was saying. Wish I hadn't though he is so full of crap. Thank you, thank you, thank you Oxford United for taking this chancer off our hands.

I can see it going down to the last match of the season - we are Charlton after all! Overall, our form is near bottom of the division. I reckon we are going to need a bit of luck from results of other teams.
That having been said, the optimism from yesterday is worth a lot. I think we'll have a better idea after those fixtures you mention.

haven't seen the match but guess it was always going to be a tough start for Karl away to Pompey on tv.
looked on the Oxford forum website when he was announced for them and they all sounded rather excited. reality is a bitch.

James do you still think we should have kept KR to the end of the season?

    You're joking, right? (That's a no).
