CARD statement 15/3/18: protests set to resume on Easter Monday (ed. cancelled)

A few thoughts
I have some sympathy to Murray in that while he said that he expected the takeover to happen in February, that was an estimation. These things can take time, for example the takeover of Wigan (a much better run club) first emerged in October, was more formally announced in early February, and still hasn't happened.
We don't know why it hasn't happened yet, maybe it's the buying party faffing around? I'd be more happy to lay the blame 100% on Roland if the potential buyers actually came out into the open, stated their interest publicly and frustration that the takeover hadn't happened. After all in most takeovers of football clubs, the buyers are known (e.g. the Wigan buyers are HK based International Entertainment Corporation)
In terms of season tickets, I certainly won't be rushing to renew, but even if I did before Roland sold the club, it's not as if he'd get the money - such advanced cash would be factored into the price of the club, e.g if £600k had been received for 2018/19 season tickets in advance of the takeover, and taken out by Roland, this would come out of the sale price.

Throwing their not inconsiderable weight of expertise, media contacts, publicity skills etc...... behind the ROT campaign would be a good starting point. Better late than never.LargeAddick said:if a sale has not materialised by the end of June latest then we need to launch a large initiative in Belgium. Really mess up his business interests. It does get under his skin.
While I applaud the reintroduction of protests, with no-one being there (CEO, owner etc) who gives a crap I'm not sure of how successful they will be unless CARD has something very imaginative up their sleeves which will grab media attention here and in Belgium.5 -
Could not agree more. I think quite a majority now believe that action in Belgium is the best way forward and both money and expertise should be directed there. Robbo is right about one thing, answers have to come from Rolly.foresthillred said:

Something very imaginative? ROT have asked for help and have an upcoming general meeting for party members on 4th April. I understand they have a number of paid up members. Why not join up and help out with this initiative? ROT has already got under his skin.6 -
On first hearing about ROT Duchâtelet dismissed the initiative as an example of the quirky British sense of humour. A few days later, having thought about it, he went on the attack, saying that ROT were a small group of nasty, vindictive Charlton fans and that 90% of fans approved of his ownership.Arsenetatters said:

So yes, clearly the Roalnd Out Today Party has rattled Roland. Let's rattle him some more huh?

From what you've said elsewhere in here you never felt the protests are justified anyway. It looks like those incidents are being used an excuse to hate everyone linked to CARD.WhenIwasLittleBoy said:
Well you are a better person than me, there is a line you don’t cross and members of CARD have crossed it twice, no respect for them at allScoham said:
It's a shame things like that have happened but it doesn't mean everyone who supports CARD would agree with it.WhenIwasLittleBoy said:
The day I lost respect for CARD when one of them made a remark about my 11year old wearing the new shirt and one of the CARD brigade calling me a scab on here, comparing me to a miner in the strike. The way I see it they are pretty good reasonsScoham said:

I just don't see why you'd label an entire group of people in the same way. I wouldn't hate an entire department at work if a couple of people within it crossed a line and really wound me up.
A shame to hide behind that as a reason to not support CARD though.

Ffs. Protest if you want. Support the team if you want. Do both if you want.
But stop throwing your testosterone about on here like you're all in some cheesy 80's football firm flick.

Murray has lived off of past glories for far too long. As for the suggestion he walks? It will never happen as money is his god and he feels justified to take in the debt owing. He like Daisy, have gotten off very lightly.5

He doesn't need to be there to get the £2.6m he is owed; there are six others owed £4.4m on the same terms who aren't on the board.TEL said:Murray has lived off of past glories for far too long. I also agree with NLA if he meant that Murray's involvement is not gonna be conducive to Duchâtelet selling. As Murray won't accept not being involved with the new owners.
I know RD calls the shots but would be surprised if there wasn't an element of truth in that, especially as Duchâtelet doesn't really give a toss about the club, and can sell when *he* wants.6 -

@DOUCHER mate, you should stay on this thread. On this thread you’re a hundred miles away from being the biggest idiot on it and your post even makes sense. Great effort.DOUCHER said:I won't be renewing until the takeover is done that's for sure - when Murray gets back he must surely make another statement - I'll see what he says before deciding whether to protest or not. No statement and I will protest.

We really are going over the same ground. But in a way it’s getting worse. Miere was useless, poisoned the club, she has gone but no visible improvement. Statements are made regarding the sale of the club but it drags on with nothing from Roland, apathy towards the club by supporters grows.
I am in my 60s, I sat in the car park in the protests. I care about my club but the destruction of the club appears to have no end.
The poison is deep. I see a squad of players that should be in the top 3. I do not know if Robinson is the issue but I have seen for the last four months rubbish on the pitch.
I wake up this morning, it’s snowing, cold. It’s easy to decide, do I want what I have in the past been happy with. A car journey from Hertfordshire, finding somewhere to park, trying to get home through the tunnel. I am sad the decision is easy- no.
When ( hopefully not if) the club is sold there are years of rebuilding to do.
RD , KM etc have lots to answer for, but I am sure they are not bothered.20 -
Why he hangs around as you rightly say while others are owned money is a mystery to me. Don't see the other six doing the sameAirman Brown said:

So theres been no protests at the ground all season and now with 3 games to go we decide to protest.
Might aswell leave it for the rest of the season and if his not sold by july plan for next season0 -
