Former Premier League striker Nile Ranger has admitted an online banking fraud in which a woman lost more than £2,000.
The 25-year-old Southend United footballer pleaded guilty to conspiracy to defraud by obtaining bank details and transferring the money.

Earning a very decent living doing something we all would have loved to have done......what a complete knob end.
The picture with him brandishing the gun took the biscuit for me!
Find it difficult to understand how Sarfend can justify retaining him to be honest, great role model ain't he.

I wonder why it took so long to sentence him, seeing that he confessed in January. He played regularly until the end of the season too

Its a conspiracy. If they had jailed him in January then Southend would have signed another striker (this time someone who could actually score goals) and thus would have finished 6th, above Millwall, and would now be in the Championship instead of the pikeys.

After his latest 10 week stint in nick he reckons he's turned a new leaf and is heading to the valley Saturday.
