That picture has to be photoshopped. His head is too big for his body.

Nope that is the size of his head... Its the fact he can fit it up his own arse thats the trick

Wonder how many season tickets they sold on the back of todays momentous news

Spoke to a player today whom I won't name. But he stated that the players knew it was around 3000 mark currently still and that he was surprised that Chris wasn't employed but before I even mentioned he had interest from Sheff Utd, He stated that he wasn't surprised he turned us down as he is a massive Sheffield United fan.

So it may not all be on the basis of he didn't get permission for his own transfers. No one knows. But the player did mention that they are aiming for an English manager this time and it looks very unlikely that the manager will be another network guy as the players need a manager they want to play for. But he believed if Riga had an extra month (before he came), he would of kept us up
With all due respect, I think the players also had something to do with it!

What's even better/worse is that this is now public that Roland will not put into writing that the manager will have complete control of the team. In fact, I'd hazard a guess that's the real reason why Powell got sacked - maybe he had that written into his contract and roly didn't like it?

Not going to get a single decent English based manager willing to work for roly now.

If Chris Wilder has indeed rejected us, does this mean Katrien will be interviewing another 20 applicants again?

    Between Countryfile and Antiques Roadshow
so it's a straight fight between Helen Skelton and Fiona Bruce
Don't care what CARD say, I'd pay good money to watch that at The Valley.

Got a feeling we'll be linked with another English manager by the end of tomorrow at latest. If anything just to try and stem the uproar. Whether we'll manage to get an English coach in worth having is a different issue.
  • What are the chances that in their bunker right now they're convincing themselves that Wilder not joining is a success and reflects positively on them, as it proves their strength and resolve in negotiations and that he's going to regret missing out on the move?

They seem to be incapable of contemplating for a second that they're capable of failure, so I find it hard to believe that today will be looked on as another embarrassing own goal by them... probably and bizarrely quite the opposite.

As sickening as it is I can totally imagine Katrien being congratulated by Roland this evening for doing a good job, huh.

I mean, what's the implication of not putting it in writing?

Pardew... Oh you mean desperate for a management job?

Powell probably didn't have that in his contract, because he didn't NEED it. The fact that Wilder wanted it in writing is a red flag all by itself. He knew what to expect without working a single day at the club.

If the picture that is emerging is correct, there is a possible scenario where you have to have a tinge of sympathy for KM - hear me out - for me if correct it is even more reason why she should resign and she can't escape the blame for not doing so.

So let's look at the Luzon appointment firstly - she told us that the club would be embarking on a proper search for a manager - then was accused of being a liar by us, because that clearly did not happen. She probably thought she could manage the club as that is what Roland told her he wanted her to do. But he over-ruled her when he could have easily prevented her from making a statement she couldn't fulfill by keeping her up to date with his plans - it suggests he is a mad idiot - so that bit rings true.

Then you have the stupid statement that recently appeared on the website - we have been told that she tried to persuade him not to do it - which he ignored. It suggests he is a mad idiot - so that bit rings true.

Then you have the non-appointment of Wilder. She clearly was given autonomy to try to get the man and was clearly not communicated to clearly enough what she could and couldn't offer him. But she nearly got it over the line when the owner decided to undermine her negotiations and not sign up to something she clearly thought she could offer. It suggests he is a mad idiot - so that bit rings true.

Now that does not excuse the disrespect, stupid statements and decisions she has made at all. It also suggests we should question why she continues to work for a mad idiot who his more than happy to put her in it and allow her to be a focal point of protests. So the tinge of sympathy can only be a small one if that is true, as she has it in her power to take herself out of this madness and doesn't. Being part of this shambles is only harming her future and the owner is only going to get worse - especially if his madness is age related!

I plAyed golf with a former director during the curbs years and he said that the board had a top three list of possibe replacements should curbs go, this list was regularly reviewed and updated at board meetings. This aporoach makes sense and I'm sure lots of clubs prepare in this way.

Our current board probably can't name 3 managers outside of the net work.

It will either be an internal appointment, a twat from the network or an out of work manager who is desperate to get a gig somewhere like lee Clark or Paul ince.

After today's news, I hope CARD have an ace up their sleeve for some summer fun soon.

Games will have to be postponed next season. We have the summer to work out the bast way to achieve that! Providing there is no miracle and the club starts being run properly - cue squadron of flying pigs!!!!

I wonder if Dowie was ever on that list. Or if he came up at just the right time for Murray to think he was getting one over on Tango Man, rather than thinking about whether he was actually any good!

Agreed. KM is an enabler, but the main problem always has been the nutter in Belgium.

Of course he wasn't. That little weasel Murray wanted to score a few points over his old mucka from Surrey.

Keith Peacock as DOF and Jason Ewell as manager.

Cheap, popular and would give it a go.

Could be enough to keep us up.
