These people are incapable of completing any deal of any merit. Everything they touch turns to failure.
They are incompetence personified. In an industry where after money industry reputation counts for everything they have not an ounce of credibility.
This latest shambles was so predictable. Anyone with the suggestion of another option to progress their career will always, always take the other option.
They had this deal on the table and they still could not get the deal done. They still are deluded enough to think they can play games and as a regime have something of value to offer without understanding the desperation of their position. They still do not get it. Everybody else is wrong.
Wilder & Knill had our firm proposals on the table, no matter any possible Sheffield United interest and they were still not compelling enough to get the deal done. Just ask yourself in our current circumstances who needed the other party more?
Only a fool would have positioned themselves in such a manner.
The breakdown again carries all of the hallmarks of another corporate cock up. It is rare for any Head of the Business to be involved with the detail of the negotiations. The detail will have been thrashed out by "the corporate underlings", who will have been given their terms of reference, where on agreement the deal can be signed off by the man at the top.
Even the briefest analysis of the other party's negotiating position would have recognised the likely deal breakers. How would you publicly step into any such negotiation without knowing the consequences of any failure to agree terms? There were any number of initial exchanges to be had to determine the key principles before announcing any formal negotiations.
If Wilder had insisted on their verbal assurances being included in the contract you could have guaranteed Duchatelet's legal team will have climbed all over it.
Whether someone has exceeded their authority or there has been a concession which Duchatelet would not sanction is anyone's guess.
It is why such things are normally conducted under the strictest terms of confidentiality. To fail to understand the impact of putting these things in the public domain before the deal is done speaks of the apparent limitless naivety and bare faced stupidity of this regime.
This is/ was/ should have been a "keystone" initiative. It is another glaring failure. It is yet more damage to the brand within and without the industry - how many more times will they completely misunderstand this market place?
Just how inherently stupid do you have to be?
To all intents and purposes the club under this regime has quite literally become unmanageable. Learn from their mistakes? This regime cannot even take its first step in rebuilding the club without falling flat on its face.

Nobody in their right mind would come anywhere near our club with these owners - because they are inveterate liars; it appears that they can't help themselves.
I am glad that it has all (entirely predictably) gone wrong again.
I hope that this story spreads far and wide and the humiliation is heaped upon RD & KM so that what is left of their moth eaten, shit-stained reputation is diminished to the point where even they cannot take the mocking and contempt that they receive from all and sundry in the football world.
The lesson of this saga is clear in that you cannot trust a word that they say. They are full of shit and will never change; it's in their DNA.
I don't care who they sign and what they say they are going to do, because it will all be lies anyway.

People like Chris Powell and Chris Wilder probably have contacts covering 90% of the U.K. Football fraternity. It is all very sad really. This represented a glimmer of light for the owner if he could clear a number of hurdles and show a change of tack. However, the club has shown they it is incapable of clearing the first! Don't they all seriously understand their incompetence - even they must start to suspect it is the case!3

So Lennie Lawrence was going to be director of football with Charlton, but the negotiations broke down. Jose Riga was considering seeing out the remainder of his contract, provided he would get control of the signings and general first eleven selection, and then resigned without citing reasons at the end of the season. Now Chris Wilder has elected not to join us despite being given verbal assurances of control. A rumour surfaces that he wanted it in writing and the club refused, while Colin claims it was his fault for delaying.

So the regime wanted CW to be a puppet " coach" and he saw right through them. Roland and Katrien hadn't really listened, understood or changed and were (surprise, surprise!) essentially trying to con us into thinking that they had. The intention, no doubt, to "manage" the club in exactly the same way - only with an English "Coach".
This fiasco didn't mark the start of a new era, just an intensification of the cynical manipulation, lies and industrial scale mismanagement.
Now we will have weeks of spin about who's going to mange us and who we are going to sign before we end up with another network numpty and a bunch of substandard players from the Transylvanian Third Division9 -
