The level of protests will go up a few gears if they're still here in August and appoint yet another network nobody.

Wouldn't surprise me if Wilder's fundemental objection was having to report to KM or have any significant dealings with her (rather than the specifics of any transfer policy or coaching set-up). It's one thing having an overbearing owner, quite another having to contend with an overbearing owner's incompetent puppet & yes-woman

No idea where we go from here. No experienced British coach will touch us and Simon Clark (if he gets the gig ) no matter how good a coach has no experience and will be hamstrung.

Newly relegated. No manager, no chief scout. No plan.

    You forgot, no hope.

If they appoint Nobby Vinegar or any other such no mark, then I think I'll swing for 'em.

BOYCOTT. No fans, no business. If he runs the club into the ground, we'll have to re-form a la Wimbledon.

The hypocrisy in this place is something else at times (or as plenty of you like to repeatedly type, beyond parody). If this is the beginning of a complete change of approach and RD does do everything that we have been asking of him and it produces results on the pitch then what's the problem? Surely that's what everyone wants isn't it?

Admittedly that is unlikely but we are all talking about hypotheticals in this thread but assuming it was a complete u turn then I don't see the problem. Seems to me that many on here want RD to back down and change his mindset but then aren't willing to do so themselves.

A year or so ago, that was what most wanted.

Because of what has happened in the interim, it is not now about RD backing down but RD selling up.
Just to caveat this before I type, I know it is highly unlikely, but, if he was to invest in a team and coaching and everything was left well alone and we got back to a position where the club is pushing towards the playoff places in the Championship. You would carry on protesting about him?
Exactly, extremely unlikely ... but, for the record:

    - if he was allowed to invest in the team
    - if he had total control over the footballing aspects of the club
    - if the scouting network reported to him
    - if he could choose his own staff
    - if KM was moved out of the club
    - if Roland stayed away and did not interfere in anything to do with football

Then, maybe, I would contemplate how far my protests should go.

But, it ain't gonna happen and we all know it.
As has been said by many, there is no way any self-respecting non-network manager will ever take the role based upon Roland's terms.

Furthermore, there is no way KM will relinquish the 'power' and 'responsibilities' she currently has control over. Therefore, there will always be a conflict on the footballing side. Ridiculously, despite her constant cock-ups, she seems to take pride in the fact that she controls the transfers and negotiations - she will not willingly relinquish this.

This surely must mean that, unless the next interim manager does it for purely mercenary reasons, then it has to be a network appointment.

Therefore the protests continue ...as expected.

Looks like we were right all along.

Ugh... makes me feel physically sick.

By all accounts an over-privileged rich-kid who, after this showing, will never be able to work for anyone other than Duchâtelet (or her family) again.

Hahaha our pathetic owner and CEO have done it again.
Sadly no reputable manager will take a job with this toxic and incompetent regime. Time to say goodbye.
We are the laughing stock of football once again.

Can't believe how many people thought this deal would go through. Even the club statement did not alter my view that even Northampton's manager would not work for us while these clowns are in charge.

Like with all his other appointments he can only get managers who he knows, no won with any sort of decent career to protect would not work for this freak show.

Can only see Nobby, Carol, Wim De Coote or Simon Clark (who no disrespect no other Div 3 club would consider) accepting the job

I think a good manager finds a way with the resources he has at his disposal - going to a potless Northampton struggling to avoid relegation, Wilder impressively found a way. With some better quality players at his disposal, it is unreasonable to suggest he won't be able to manage them.

Better quality players at his disposal. Let's wait and see.

I'd be happy with Adkins as our manager

To be fair to KM etc, we've no idea what's going on behind the scenes, it could be Wilder stalling or making new demands. Considering it's 3 months to the start of the season, an extra day is hardly going to make a big difference to our summer recruitment
Sorry about the flag mate, but anybody that says to be fair to squirrel faces deserves it!

I'll remove it if you apologise.

Some managers are only successful with a group of moderately talented players, that they can get to give "110%" and work as a unit, either through bollocking or through motivation.

You couldn't imagine Warnock working his magic at Manchester City for example, as his methods would have little effect on their players

We just need to Katrien 'Sale Pute de Medre' to take a few days to appoint Nobby Vinigar to make the lie work. If you wanna lie you have to be good at it.

Spoke to a player today whom I won't name. But he stated that the players knew it was around 3000 mark currently still and that he was surprised that Chris wasn't employed but before I even mentioned he had interest from Sheff Utd, He stated that he wasn't surprised he turned us down as he is a massive Sheffield United fan.

So it may not all be on the basis of he didn't get permission for his own transfers. No one knows. But the player did mention that they are aiming for an English manager this time and it looks very unlikely that the manager will be another network guy as the players need a manager they want to play for. But he believed if Riga had an extra month (before he came), he would of kept us up.

Is it too late to say I thought he was rubbish and clearly not good enough for a club of our stature etc. anyway?
  • Wonder how many season tickets they sold on the back of todays momentous news

Surely anyone who has bought a season ticket can now see the errors of their way. Surely. As I said earlier in this thread, if you have bought a season ticket, tell the club you don't want it now and ask for a refund (which I think they are obliged to do if you haven't used it yet).

Roland will never give up pulling all the strings. He will not trust anyone else with his money. Rolands way or the highway.

Get out of football and let us get back to the more familiar heartaches we are conditioned to at The Valley.
