What's the likely hold-up? Charlton have promised full control over transfers (within a budget), but few believe on the basis of the past the Belgians would deliver that in practice. If Wilder has any sense he'll want that written into his contract, like the clauses Curbs and Keegan had which enabled them to win their cases after walking out at Wet Spam and Newcastle.

Pure speculation on my part but that is the crux of the Charlton problem for a manager and it would be no surprise if the Belgians have tried to fudge it at the end.

I can imagine meire's trying to pull a fast one on the contract legal speak on the transfers.

She will not want her current role diluted in any way whatsoever

Not sure we have approached anyone yet, random Peter Reid story came from a Bolton paper - the same paper that said CW was nailed on to sign at Bolton!

As for CW, he has been great for us - I wouldn't listen to Oxford fans about his style being direct, it is nothing of the sort. Played some of the best football I have ever seen at Sixfields under CW. Great manager and takes no rubbish from anyone. Sorry to see him go, begrudge him leaving? Absolutely not.

Treble his wage at Charlton, if he does badly it isn't his fault, if he does well he is a hero!

Suspect the snag will be sorted shortly.

I hope he doesn't come, for if he does, it'll divert attention from getting rid of RD.

I wouldn't be too sure, we know what this lot are like. Besides, this might give Wilder a clue of what to expect if he does accept the job, he'll be fighting a constant battle against those upstairs, it will probably put him right off it.

I imagine the snag might be our CEO.

Honest cannot see her and Wilder getting on, at all.

That sounds like utter bollocks to me. Where are they even redirecting to, or have they already found and moved into their new house?

Oh hang on, think the deal may be back on. Hearing that Mrs Wilder has just been spotted in the Farrow & Ball shop in Blackheath - she is apparently being treated for shock after being quoted £400 for two tins of Midnight Blue and a small pot of white gloss.
Gloss is so 2010, it's all about the satin theses days
Not if you're from Yorkshire it ain't. Mrs Wilder has now moved over the road to the electrical shop, and is staring in bemused wonderment at a microwave light bulb.
    Fixed it.

I've read enough to realise your problems and the idiots that own you. CW is pretty pig headed and it's clear he wants the job. Difficult for him to come back to us now with us all knowing he wants to leave.

I dunno, football fans are pretty fickle, all he has to do is say he went to see a real basket case of a club and realised how great it actually is at Northampton, you'll be singing his name first opportunity.

Charlton probably are a big deal for someone like Wilder.
However, we are not the club we once were. This place is like a managers graveyard. Any assurances he gets will not be worth the paper they are written on.
    Basket case club.
    Save yourself Chris. Stay away.

If we can get the Snag sorted, then it will be one small step in getting our football club back up and running again.

Partially destroyed? Thought the fans had rent it assunder. I'll be annoyed if they just tore up a couple of cushions.

    Rumour is entirely made up
He took the job and on the way out of the contract signing slapped Katrien's arse. Roland's personal live feed saw it and he demanded the man be sacked straight away.

"Partially destroyed"? Have a sneaking suspicion that even the most adept furniture repairer will struggle to repair the sofa even if the club give him the full hoover bags and shreds of fabric.

Football fans are fickle - if he stayed and signed a new contract with us and stated he is here to stay then fair enough - without that it wouldn't work.

I actually think he is the best manager you could hope for in your situation. CW performed miracles with us when having a corrupt (allegedly) chairman to deal with.

I think it was only the fitted cushions that were destroyed.
