As for CW, he has been great for us - I wouldn't listen to Oxford fans about his style being direct, it is nothing of the sort. Played some of the best football I have ever seen at Sixfields under CW. Great manager and takes no rubbish from anyone. Sorry to see him go, begrudge him leaving? Absolutely not.
Treble his wage at Charlton, if he does badly it isn't his fault, if he does well he is a hero!

I wouldn't be too sure, we know what this lot are like. Charlton probably are a big deal for someone like Wilder.
However, we are not the club we once were. This place is like a managers graveyard. Any assurances he gets will not be worth the paper they are written on.

I can just picture the scene when Wilder turned up to negotiate his contract. All the remaining staff are located in one office, the rest of the space has been sub-let to call centres. He knocks on the door and enters. He sees, that Mandy and Meire have Lastminute.com open on a computer and are looking summer city breaks. Big Tone has his combat fatigues on and going through CCTV footage, Silly Uncle Dick is sat alone in the corner with a massive big cap on with the word PRESIDENT on it. A few Belgian kids are sat on the floor looking at football clips on YouTube and playing Football Manager.
Wilder makes his excuses and leaves.

He took the job and on the way out of the contract signing slapped Katrien's arse. Roland's personal live feed saw it and he demanded the man be sacked straight away.

Football fans are fickle - if he stayed and signed a new contract with us and stated he is here to stay then fair enough - without that it wouldn't work.
I actually think he is the best manager you could hope for in your situation. CW performed miracles with us when having a corrupt (allegedly) chairman to deal with.0 -
