My hunch is this was due to be confirmed late yesterday / early today but hit a hitch.
I don't expect it to be a major one, terms would have been known before talks and Wilder clearly wants the job (he would have spoke to others well in advance and that hasn't put him off). He holds the cards though in this so suspect a bit of last min negotiation is going on for him / his team.
My gut feeling says this will still go through later today / tomorrow. If it doesn't then the club look ridiculous and they know that.

If this doesn't go through then we're well and truly buggered for the season imo. I imagine this will be the only respectable manager that will even give the job a thought.
So we have an up and coming manager desperate to prove himself who seems keen to come to us. Now it's hit a snag. Maybe the realisation that he won't have total control after all. Only our inept board could fcuk this up!!!!

Wouldn't be the first time they've looked ridiculous recently.
If Lennie recommended Wilder, it seems strange that he would reject a role himself, but be prepared to condemn Wilder to face the very bullets he has dodged. If Lennie was DOF, I could see it working with Wilder as manager, thus detaching Meire from footballing matters. But as already stated, if Wilder has to take advice from Meire, I can't see it lasting five minutes.
I think it is great news it has hit a snag. Not because I don't want Wilder - I think he looks to be just the man we need - but it shows that he isn't so desperate that he will join us on any terms. So hopefully when the snag is sorted (if it is sorted), we will be in a much better position to be successful as he will have the necessary assurances.

Not sure I share your optimism, but I do hope you're right.
Football fans are fickle - if he stayed and signed a new contract with us and stated he is here to stay then fair enough - without that it wouldn't work.
I actually think he is the best manager you could hope for in your situation. CW performed miracles with us when having a corrupt (allegedly) chairman to deal with.
I wouldn't disagree, I'm hoping it all goes through, but we know that the people in charge are complete morons.
I can just picture KM in the negotiations chuckling every time Wilder says something
She's in defensive. Mode. She will have netting installed between her and Wilder for the interview (he will of course have been searched on entry) and she will have the lardy steward/bouncer next to her. Hell, Murray might even be there.

This could of course be an elaborate ruse by Meire after the criticism that followed her "20 applications" bullshit before Fraeye was appointed. She wants to show she talked to an English manager before appointing another network stooge.

A relatively recent chant of ours, often mistaken for tsunami.
(Apologies if this was mentioned above).
There would be a shock \ a last minute hitch that meant a well publicised deal & negotiation does not go ahead.
Which would only be a sensible thing to request.
fiasco.
