Rich Cawley saying things aren't looking good on twitter

#cafc seemed confident of announcing Wilder yesterday. Rumblings are not good today.

I dunno how to properly embed the tweet, sorry

This is simply down to the complete lack of understanding and nievety of RD and KM about how to run an English football club.

I'm sure there is now a genuine desire to appoint British but no comprehension of what a British manager requires in terms of autonomy. What Wilder would require and what was given to Riga, Luzon, Peeters is poles apart.

Can't really see where anyone we would want could work for us.

He thought he was getting £10k, he thought it was a month, they meant a year.

Did anyone really actually expect this to happen?

This will fall through, we will end up with another network puppet, and KM will be able to say "at least we tried to get an English manager but we couldn't do the deal".

The last remaining straw that I'm desperately clutching is that the fact that the talks were announced publicly, although a cynical move, does indicate a grudging understanding that the appointment of another unknown from the network would be completely unacceptable to the fans. But then, since when have they cared what we think?

I really hope to be proved wrong on this one...

I think it shows that the avenues and doors available to this rotten regime are firmly being shut in their faces.
    A good day if true.

Oh dear, who'd have thought it.

I don't get why they would announce they're in talks on the OS. Why not just wait til the deal's done?

I think Northampton announced it first and then we had to say something.

I'm still not sure he's not just using us to leverage a better salary elsewhere.

    Any why shouldn't he?

    Hold on,

Not done yet, not dead yet.

Never done until it is 100% signed, sealed and on the OS and my guess this is where they arm wrestle over money, control, length of contract, budget etc.

Maybe Wilder has done what Howe did and asked for a last minute pay rise.

Maybe Roland has interfered and insisted that Karel Fraeye be Head of Scouting

Maybe Katrien is incompetent (actually, no maybe there).

Chill out, even do some work (yeah, yeah) and wait and see what happens.

have a feeling he won't take the job.

once he starts talking to people within the club, he'll realise what a shower of incompetent shit they are.

judging by that earlier interview, he's no fool and unless he gets exactly what he wants, why bother?

on this occasion, he holds all the CARDS.

It is a work permit issue, but as Wilder lives in Sheffield he only needs to pop next door to sort it.

That sounds like utter bollocks to me. Where are they even redirecting to, or have they already found and moved into their new house?

Oh hang on, think the deal may be back on. Hearing that Mrs Wilder has just been spotted in the Farrow & Ball shop in Blackheath - she is apparently being treated for shock after being quoted £400 for two tins of Midnight Blue and a small pot of white gloss.
