Outrageous behaviour from our stewards today.

This guy needs to be backed by us to fight this abuse of the system.3

I saw it get taken down. The banner wasn't harming anyone or obscuring anyone's views. It was rude either...
Article 10 - Human rights act. Right to freedom of speech.
Article 11 - Human Rights Act. Right protest.
I'm just saying - they're taking away your right.5 -
If money is needed to fight the club with legal action. I'd be up for chipping in some more readies. Putting up with a visual assault is one thing, but when the club lays a hand on fans there is something more sinister happening that needs to be addressed. I don't believe that this is an individual taking action. It seems to be a representative of the regime following orders. More fuel to our flames.3

I agree with this - we must and WILL do something about this. The Prince-e-Paul said:If money is needed to fight the club with legal action. I'd be up for chipping in some more readies. If the person concerned is on this forum make yourself known to one of the MODS, i'm sure they will use this as cannon fodder against the regime!1 -
I'm sure the clubs view will be that it was obscuring an advert and this is not allowed blah blah blah.
So maybe next time not to obscure anything. Give them no reason to remove banners.0 -
That doesn't defend or excuse heavy handedness though.Baldybonce said:I'm sure the clubs view will be that it was obscuring an advert and this is not allowed blah blah blah.

What happened to the days when stewards woukdnt have got near a fan, most times the ob didn't get close without getting the odd boot or whack, I remember Sheffield u away when I was being pulled into the crowd by our fans and pulled out by the legs by the stewards, no one let them get me they had no.chance,Charltonparklane said:On another note, can't imagine everybody allowing the stewards so easy to grab a fella and his mum and manhandled them so easily out the ground at many other clubs.
If 50/60 people stand up and get involved they wouldn't be able to cope and think about their actions in future for their £40 fee or whatever they get.
How many stewards in the ground max? 100?
You've got 1000 people venting anger and wanting answers in protests before and after, stick together inside the ground as well.
Let's see that mentality come In, anyone tries to get to someone protesting, then protect them7 -
Saw a report on Facebook that another fan has been banned for bringing card leaflets in to the ground. Don't know the full story though.0

I am a criminal defence solicitor - if the lad involved is on here - inbox me, let's turn it's on its head and start some criminal proceedings63

there was a banner being held up at the back of the H (maybe g) block. It's funny how these mugs didn't want to go up there and cause a scene, eh?6

In the criminal justice system, the people are represented by two separate, yet equally important, groups: the police, who investigate crime; and the district attorneys, who prosecute the offenders. This is their story...mrbligh said:I am a criminal defence solicitor - if the lad involved is on here - inbox me, let's turn it's on its head and start some criminal proceedings

I'm very happy to take this up with the club on behalf of the Supporters Trust, but it would help if the people involved could send me their definitive version of events, as well as anyone who eye witnessed it. Happened in front of me, not sure what part of grabbing a customer by the scruff of the neck is acceptable and is blown out of proportion.PopIcon said:Blown out of proportion, this happened right on front of my eyes.

I would think it is between the fan, the police and the steward. No need to discuss with the club.rikofold said:

There's so much space in the East Stand, and what looks like a lack of stewards, that it may make sense to place the banner there.Baldybonce said:I'm sure the clubs view will be that it was obscuring an advert and this is not allowed blah blah blah.

It's also directly opposite her..4 -
Not only did this occur on club premises - but it also happened whilst the steward was conducting his responsibilities as per his contractual obligations to the club; he was in essence acting as a representative of the club.kentred2 said:

Presumably he'd have to speak to the club to get his confiscated season ticket back.kentred2 said:

Instead of hanging the banner I might work out a way of getting in something that holds it upright inside, the only way it will be down is to come and get it

I never said it was acceptable, I just said the whole thing had been blown out of proportion.guinnessaddick said:

I support the person with the banner and feel they should be able to express their feelings.
Sadly their banner wasnt fire-retardant and blocked advertising.3 -
Then take the banner why touch the individual11

Neither of which is cause to be dragged out of the ground, so which bit has been blown out of proportion?PopIcon said:
