Riga *Might* be coming back

Pleasing:
Charlton look set to turn to Jose Riga as the man to help them beat the drop from the Championship.
And the Addicks could move before Tuesday’s Championship game at Huddersfield in bringing back the 58-year-old.
Interim head coach Karel Fraeye is under huge pressure after Saturday’s 2-1 defeat at Colchester United in the FA Cup made it nine games without a victory for the South London club.
And Riga may be asked to take on the job for the remainder of the season - as he did when he replaced Chris Powell in March 2014.
Then he and Fraeye, who worked as his assistant, secured safety in the penultimate game of the season.
Riga was not retained that summer and instead moved to Blackpool - but his stay at Bloomfield Road was not a success and he was the second shortest-serving boss in their history as he lasted just four months.
Charlton owner Roland Duchatelet appointed Riga as Standard Liege boss in February 2015 but he again did not stay on after the end of the campaign.
He joined French outfit Metz, but was sacked by them in December.
Riga would become the club’s fifth boss since Duchatelet bought Charlton two years ago.
The Addicks are 23rd in the table but only a point behind Rotherham, who do have a better goal difference.

I wonder if Fraeye will stay on in some form?0
-
Underwhelming....
Why do we have to limit our search to such a small group of mediocre managers?41 -
I'm sure he'll continue to do his impression of a fly round a cows asshole.flyingkiwiDK said:I wonder if Fraeye will stay on in some form?

Riga would have to be mental.8

Don't want him back at all - want a complete break from this boring merry go round38

KM will probably put him in charge of recruitment after his claims of doing so well at it.flyingkiwiDK said:I wonder if Fraeye will stay on in some form?
I am being sarky, but who knows with these clowns. It may well end up happening.0 -
It's a bloody merry go round of embarrassment.0
-
and only until the end of the season too (just like last time). If I were him I would say thanks but no thanks.3
-
We are a laughing stock and it seems every decision these jokers make only gets proven to be the wrong one 6 months later.

Beyond parody

He lucked out at inheriting an experienced back room staff last time, with only Euell and Mr. Laundry Basket at the moment - he is going to have a real battle on his hands.
We need a complete clear out.20 -
Every managerial decision is correct though we have to remember guys. This also means KF will probably stay and be assistant or help behind the scenes at SL.5

Beggars can't be choosers I'm afraid. It's clear KF can't continue.8

Hilarious. Our club has become an absolute effing joke.
P.s I have not just realised this!6 -
As much as we owe Riga for keeping us up, it's just another puppet appointment !
I reckon Matthew Corbett will be his assistant!
Fucking laughable.4 -
but isn't this just the SLP making presumptions?1
-
I wish him all the best if it's true, and as others have said, we should have kept him in 2014.
However, this regime has absolutely no imagination when it comes to recruiting coaches or players does it?2 -
WOW
Never saw this coming

No problem if Riga came back, but if it's only until the end of the season then it's the same merry go round as before.
Still want them out. That does not change.7
