Fox will come in. Or....THD will come back to play and Fox will go to Oxford!

I think we will get a loan in if he's out for any length of time.

We have got one, Coquelin can play any where in the back line

Think Bob brought him in for other duties.

  • Apparently cousin's went to RB & Wilson to LB although obviously Bob hasn't spent alot of time with Coq so might have trusted Cousins more.

    I agree SHG.

Will have to assess situation once he has scans. Fox will play Saturday (8th) and then we have no game for two weeks, when we play scumwall.

Id imagine THD will stay put, and Fox will be given a go.

Shame that we might have to use Coquelin at full back rather than in midfield.
  • Is it a long-term injury for Wiggins then?

Usually is when he gets injured.

  • Forget about the injury for a moment, is that one of those Basildon market man bags???
  • He signaled to the bench as soon as he pulled up. Looked like his right foot.

Does not sound like a knock, more like a strain of sorts

I told him on Thursday that his boots weren't giving him sufficient protection & he said that he's always worn them.

I thought "precisely", but didn't say it, as he said I was nagging like his mum :-)

Agreed mate, they are like carpet slippers, can't beat a pair of toe tectors your old man has softened up on a shoe anvil with a claw hammer :-)
  • Completely agree, Covered End - they are nothing but slippers. He now has a weakness there and needs better protection from stronger boots...

If only he'd listened to his Auntie Heather...

someone above said ankle. While it was the other side of the field, he did have to walk past us and his ankle looked fine.

Big Bad Bob reckons it's Wiggin's toe. From NS report:

Wiggins, sadly no stranger to long-term injuries in recent years, was seen leaving the ground in a protective boot, and Peeters said he was unsure of the extent of injury as of yet.

“They’re going to take an MRI tomorrow,” the manager revealed.

“If he has a crack in his toe it could be a long time, but we need to wait until the scan tomorrow.”
  • Don't forget he missed Fulham because of a toe injury - sometimes worry we are rushing players back as squad is so thin. He seemed fine on Sat, though.

Hardly. Over one hundred games in three seasons.

I don't see a need for a loan here .Fox should be covering Wiggins with the option of Coquelin in an emergency.

THD went to Oxford on the 16th October so we can't bring him back before the 16th November , so he can't play at Reading.

As an emergency loan after this date I think we can recall him at 24 hours notice . There would be no point in bringing him back whilst he is getting valuable first team experience at Oxford , so I would like us to keep him there unless there is a problem with Fox .

I don't think Harry Lennon can play for us until January because his was on a season long loan at Cambridge.I think we brought him back because of the lack of game time at the Abbey Stadium and there seems little point in him training with the U's and playing for our Under 21's.

Wiggins has not had much luck since suffering a foot fracture against Palace in september 2012 (Four months out). Then the same injury against Barnsley in April last season (Out till pre season)

I presume if its the same type of injury then we may not see him till January/February time.
