In all honesty Powell has joined a shambles of a club, he has taken on something very difficult, these are not his players and there's not much he can do to change that. One of 2 things can happen if you keep him until the end of the season. A) you'll go down like a lead balloon, which was going to happen anyway so no loss really or Powell will try and motivate a crap team to Christmas pulling the occasional point out of the bag, spend some money in January and make his own team and keep you up, then be hailed a hero and called Sir. :-) either way I don't see that you have anything to lose.

Come on LBTF 2 defeats in 900 games isn't that bad.... On the upside you have millwall next week and Powell's record against them is brilliant.

Caretakers tend to be caretakers for a reason, LBTF. They usually lack the qualities needed to succeed in the top job over an extended period, when the pressure is greater. Chris Powell may end up being the disappointment you think he is already, but he does have a decent track record overall and he might just surprise you. CP has his weaknesses, but so do almost any other manager you might be able to entice up to Udders. He isn't a muppet, he isn't an idiot, and he's a good football man. Take a breath, have a drink, show a bit of patience.

I thought it would be interesting to see what he could do with someone else's squad considering what he done with parkys in his first year taking us from 5th to 13th. It's not looking good. Saying that, we all know what he can do with some money and time to build a squad. If he's in the job by January, it will be interesting to see what he can do if he gets money to spend.

Yes precisely, give him the January window and see what happens, but it's not our problem. Did we go onto wet spam forums and beg them to take pardew back?
