  • In the cold light of day, I am still fuming. Just been at the local with a few Leeds fans who couldn't believe how bad we were (I could). Under Lillis, we were playing some great football (as those of you who could be bothered to travel to Huddersfield will testify).

This Guy has come in and had what can only be described as an astonishing, remarkable negative impact. I honestly don't know how he has managed it.

Yes we will be league 1 next season, guaranteed and with a record low points tally.

I blame our Chairman mainly, he has appointed this Man and unfortunately, it's us, the fans that are suffering and will continue to do so.

Ah well, we have a home game against Millwall to look forward to and an attendance that will be officially the lowest we have ever had at home at Championship level. The reported attendance will be based on season ticket sales, not those that are foolish enough to watch the next debacle so the real attendance will be much lower.

Genuinely pleased you are having a good season, just envious that you have a Manager that can get the best out of your Players, and presumably sets you up with square pegs in square holes and to try and win games. I wouldn't swap our squad on paper for yours and look at our respective league positions.

Oh how I wish we had a football Manager, not a charlatan.

Don't worry about it. He's a good bloke.

Just get this Man out of our Club and away from our Players, PLEASE and sharpish.

On a serious note, coming on to another board and saying that after 3 games? Get a f****** grip.

He's clearly a Yorkshireman, so perspective isn't going to be a strong suit.
  • Hope to see you back on here if you beat Millwall.
  • enough.close the thread.
  • Gutting defeat in the big derby game, very hard to take.
Can anybody really a) make a judgement after three games or b) fashion a team in their own style after three games.
Watching Chris Powell arrival at Huddersfield Town seemed very other, very out of kilter with nature if you like, but I put that feeling down to my bias in his favour. Maybe he is a stranger in a strange land in some way, and my altered perspective was noticing something else about the whole affair.
I still hope he can achieve at Huddersfield. I don't know if Huddersfield were expecting promotion this year, I feel sure they are not expecting relegation, so will it be a 'success' to stay in the division this season? Are there other expectations? Will it be that those Yorkshire nationalists suspicious of Johnny Londoner, will now have free rein to give Chris Powell a constant kicking after a disappointing start so as he will have no chance anyway?
I would dearly love to see Chris survive at Huddersfield, and for Huddersfield to survive in this division.
  • Strange place for Chris to pitch up. Is Dyer with him? Anyway as someone said he has a flat cap so what are you complaining about?

When he was appointed by us he got off to a poor start, had a clear out and got better players in and won the league at a canter. I love the guy but I'll be honest, the style of football was often pragmatic rather than pretty. But then y'aint West Ham, are ya?

  • @LeedsbasedTownfan.

Could you help us out here? As somebody else pointed out, you were on here complaining at 5.21 yesterday. I guess we are wondering whether you actually went to the game at all, and if you did we are trying to imagine why - and how - you come on the forum of a team not involved in the game, less than half an hour after the final whistle (actually two forums because I have learnt that you cut and paste the same diatribes to both).

    Seems rather odd to me.
  • Someone has mentioned that you need a 100% support banner but after analysing your predicament LBTF, have you thought of some kind of irrational sycophantic man love? Or perhaps a cute and cuddly name for the man in question, "Chrissy" or perhaps a title, "sir"? He just needs loving, take it from us. Good luck chuck.
  • CP won't get cut as much slack at Huddersfiekd as he did here, pretty obviously , but I wonder if the Huddersfield fan who posted his disapproval on here is a representative point of view of the many at Huddersfield.

If it is , I'll be surprised if Chris lasts until Christmas , I hope for his sake I'm wrong, but I thought he rushed back into management a bit too quick, and was unsure if Huddersfield would be the right fit for him, Watford I could understand ( maybe he was overlooked? ).
  • Town fan, it might make you feel in good company if you read some of our fans views after our Welling friendly.

You will probably be in a better position to see how Chris can work with you guys in 3 months, not 3 games.

Don't be so hard on yourself, Leicester are a good team
  • I would happily take Powell back if that shuts then northern boy up. Get on your own forum mate.

  • What you on about?, having to watch utter shite and Players out of position? (Again). The worst Manager we have had for years (some accolade that when Mark Robins has been in charge). I blame the Chairman me

Why don't you just piss off and sort out the trouble a't the Mill.
  • LBTF - Aren't you lot still unbeaten?!

  • Of all the silly threads I have read, this has got to be the top. New manager (know matter who ,he is or where he came from), after 3 games being condemned, lucky we did not do the same in his first part-season with us.
  • tbf he won his first 4 games ;)

True, but not much after that

SCP has never beaten Millwall as a manager. Enjoy that one.
  • I'll tell you what, for the good of his managerial career, he needs to do a decent job there.

The legacy of the league 1 title winning season and decent year in the champ to follow got him that job.

If a poor season last year resulting in being sacked was followed up by a poor run / relegation for Huddersfield resulting in being sacked......well, I am not sure his career could recover as a manager in the short term (certainly a decent managerial career).
  • He definately got the response he was probably looking for
  • Will we hear from him?

    :-))
